Much better OM team this year than last year. Beard went out and brought in three new starters from the portal. I don’t believe they are super talented as a whole but a blind msn can see they are very well coached and hustle their tails off.

A 9-9 conference record will get any and all SEC teams into the dance. That means all Ole Miss has to do from this point (3-0) is finish the conference schedule at 6-9. They are sitting in excellent shape to make the dance in Beard’s second year.

Bianco has done a good job in developing several pitchers on this staff. Mallitz (sp?) was ineffective last year but developed a slider that is dynamite. DeLucia started out in the bullpen tbis season but has progressed to #1 starter throughout the season. Also, few catchers are better than Dunhurst at framing pitches and stealing a few strikes throughout a game.
Watch the fans reactions sitting beyond the right field wall. They were there and their reactions indicate the ball was definitely foul.
It’s all speculative but I doubt the NCAA will show any mercy for terminating WW at this late date. It’s entirely possible that had Woodward fired Wade early on, say when Wade initially refused to meet with the administration, the NCAA would have taken the discharge into consideration.

Instead, Woodward chose to restructure the contract and before you know it 2-3 years went by with no impact on recruiting or wins and losses. At this point, LSU should look for a minimum of a two year post season ban and whatever scholarship losses the NCAA deeme appropriate. Anything less will be a pleasant surprise imo.
Whatever the basketball sanctions are, and they are likely to be significant, the problem is that LSU basketball will lose current recruits to decommitment and some current players to the portal.

Simply having the unknown sanctions hanging over the program's head will wreak havoc. The sooner the punishment is announced, the sooner the road to recovery takes place. Until then, it will be a bumpy ride.

As far as football goes, the NCAA should, and likely will, take into consideration the self-imposed penalties. The problem here, however, is that LSU was unsuccessful in getting the two programs severed and thus both have been proclaimed guilty of loss of institutional control. It would not be surprising, therefore, to see an additional one year bowl ban especially since the self-imposed one year ban came in the midst of a losing season during the Covid year.
