BUT, the family court system in Louisiana and most of the country SUCKS (especially if little kids are involved). King B. H. Obama left his stain on most government institutions. The judicial system and in particular the attitude of family court hearing officers are insane. The family court system very much has a DEI tone. Social justice, equity, fairness, blah, blah, blah. I can say from my daughter's recent divorce that most of the hearing officers are pathetic DEI loons. Sadly, this poor woman has likely been jacked over repeatedly by a broken system. Prayers for all involved.

The current playoff format is perfect! Their expansion proposal is absurd. Almost as absurd is the number of bowl games. There was a time when a team going to a bowl game was an achievement. Nowadays, all you need is a 0.500 record. What a joke.

Yes it is important. However, the Republi-CANTS will continue to be Republi-CANTS. We had all three branches of government the past two years and John Thune has managed to muck up the works along with Speaker Johnson. This is nothing new. Pretty boy Paul Ryan did the same thing for Trump's first term. The secret is LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Take care brother!

Be thankful if that is the brunt of the weather. Earlier this week it was supposed to be very rainy Saturday & Sunday (with amounts upwards of 4"). A local meteorologist just posted on FaceBook that over the past day weather models trends have backed off of the rain totals for inland areas of the state. The extreme southeastern areas of the state and areas of the gulf over towards Mississippi and Alabama are still expected to see heavy rain. Hopefully the models continue to lessen the rain and this Saturday turns out fine! Geaux Tigers!!!!

The CBS affiliate in Lafayette (KLFY) runs circles around those which are being consolidated. Most of the channels involved in the 'merger' had significant staff cuts over the previous year. KLFY (CBS) has been my go to source for news and in particular weather for the previous decade. They rock! :nana:

We should have exited NATO thirty five years ago when the Berlin Wall came down. We also should have left Korea a decade before that. Lets bring those troops stateside and spend those dollars at home in American communities.

Cute puppy. Be advised. Puppies do better with a playmate. Dogs are pack animals. In the absence of another, puppies are prone to become bored. Once boredom sets in, they are likely to destroy nice things. If your fur-baby is to be the only dog, get him a kennel and contain him whenever you are away.

Seriously, there's not much you can do. I have read up on snakes the past few years, and snakes generally will not be aggressive. However, if you step on them or over them, that is another story. If you live near a canal, wooded area, have mice, frogs, or countless other creatures, they will be present. As another poster stated get cats. My wife (no pics) has over the past two years amassed a collection of thirty-something feral neighborhood cats. The upside, if it lives and breathes in my yard, it dies, and quickly. Haven't seen a snake in quite some time. The downside, those furry rascals eat $100 per week in Blue Buffalo catfood.
