They did pretty good once Milroe became the full starter

Milroe started every game but USF, where he was apparently suspended for how he responded to their loss to Texas. Rees either didn’t want to or didn’t know how to develop & utilize Milroe.

The crowd isn’t nearly as loud as the crowd in Tiger Stadium. LSU was playing on offense with minimal crowd noise in the second quarter and early 3rd when the game was still on the line.

I’m sorry, but this is laughably incorrect. How many snap infractions did we have? The JD interception was one of the loudest stadium pops I’ve ever heard, maybe going back to the 2008 game in Tiger Stadium. As others have mentioned, the noise felt well sustained, although manufactured at times. The light show coming back from a timeout was intimidating and something we need to implement, IMO.
This is the big story, IMO. We couldn’t get Bama off the field. That was as bad of 3rd down defense as I’ve ever seen us play. Bama was 11-14 on 3rd downs, and many of those were 5+ yard conversions.

Bama’s drives by TOP in the 2nd half:

7:10
3:38
2:53
2:28
1:36

It doesn’t matter how good our offense is if we can’t get the football in their hands.

I haven’t been that frustrated in a while. :banghead:
We have been the more penalized team twice in the last 10 meetings. We are often the heavy beneficiary of penalties & penalty yardage. This myth of refs hating LSU, especially when we play Alabama, needs to go away. It makes us all look very ignorant.

Expect 11 for 94 called against us and 3 for 15 against Bama

We almost always are less penalized than them, sometimes by a lot. The problem is often the unfortunate timing, which is hard to quantify.

Show me a coach who won a championship in year 2.

If we’re just talking national championships:

Jim Tressel
Bob Stoops
Urban Meyer

But other coaches experienced tremendous success at the national level in year two. Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Gary Patterson, Mark Richt, Kirby Smart, etc.

quote:

Bobby Bowden-won NT in yr 18...is dead
Bob Stoops-Retired
Tommy Bowden (Tulane)-WTF I din't know Tulane won a natty
Nick Saban-year 3
Bobby Petrino (Louisville)-0 nattys
Urban Meyer-yes
Jim Tressel-retired bc he ran a dirty program
Gary Patterson-0 nattys
Mark Richt-lol
Pete Carrol- yr 3
Kirby Smart- yes

why not add O and Miles if you're including yr 3

You didn’t say anything about winning a national championship. You said “championship level rosters.” Every single one of those coaches flipped their roster & culture well enough by year 2 that they were competing for championships.

You also didn’t say anything about coaches available to hire. You asked for examples of coaches who built championship level rosters in 2 years.

English is hard, but words mean things. You’re either moving goal posts, or not communicating very well.

I would guess your take is that both deleted everything as they get ready to transfer out? Now which one makes more sense. Spoiler alert, it’s not yours.

They deleted everything last night immediately following the game, presumably while emotions were at a near all time low. If they were deleting their content because they were “locked in,” they could have deactivated their accounts with far less effort.

Seems to me like these boys are getting ready to lock in. Blocking everything out and focusing on football.

That is an interesting take.

People also forget that Bama was 10-2 and in a top bowl less than 15 months before Saban took over there.

He had a more stable situation then as well when he took over in 2007. Also, they were nowhere near as depleted as LSU is right now.

I am so tired of seeing this take, and it’s one of the reasons I began actively posting. Saban’s 2007 Alabama team didn’t have a single player drafted. Not one. On the entire team. He took over a sanction riddled Shula program, and the only player he inherited on the entire roster that was drafted on the first day was Andre Smith, who was drafted the following year.

These two situations are not at all similar. BK has some work to do, but it’s a much easier rebuild than what Saban had, and we should EXPECT to see some serious improvements as the season progresses.

Saban went 12-2 in year two. I see no reason why BK can’t do the same or similar. Bama is our only road block to owning this division.

That doesn’t mean he didn’t make some absolutely absurd decisions that kept LSU in the game and nearly cost them a victory.

FSU had less than 400 yards of offense and managed to put up 24 points. Nobody was impressed.

As long as they feel good. FSU fans are better than Miami fans, but not by much.
