Assuming Ole Miss loses to UGA and Bama loses to LSU leaving them all with 2 loses, then Ole Miss would be eliminated by the tiebreaker with 2 conference loses to the others' 1. LSU would then take it over Bama with the head-to-head.

At least that's how I read it. Could be wrong.
Intelligible, complete sentences with a clear focus on the subject matter.

It's been a long time since we've seen that from an LSU football coach.
Kavanaugh's concurrence isn't the official opinion of the court, but I believe he wrote to signal that student-athletes should press the issue. They weren't the ones who appealed, so the court only ruled on what the 9th Circuit had ruled the NCAA couldn't enforce. As for now, internships and other "education-related" compensation can no longer be regulated by the NCAA. This is likely the first domino to fall in a line of many.

This would be a very complicated scenario.

1. Bama wins a close one against LSU in Tuscaloosa then wins out regular season.

2. Florida beat UGA and wins out regular season and beats Bama in ATL.

3. LSU wins out regular season but sits at home during SEC champ with 1 loss.

You end up with 3 SEC teams with 1 loss all who beat Auburn and each with a win over the other (LSU over UF, Bama over LSU, and UF over Bama). UF and LSU have additional quality wins over UGA and Texas respectively. It's probably UF and LSU in at that point, but boy would the Gumps be pissed off.
Just flipped over from Auburn v UK. Atmosphere doesn’t even come close. They have students almost right on the court going nuts the whole game. We have old people sitting down and talking on their cell phones.

I know USCe ain’t UK, but come on.

It is up to the NCAA

No, schools will decide. NCAA would make decision if this were the playoffs, but since the schools scheduled the game they will make the decision (along with local officials) to move/cancel or not.

This isn't a thing. What is a sectional in college football? Do you mean conference?
Yes, unless there's a satellite issue, your in-room tv will carry CBS. The sports bar will also have the game.

It's time to ask the question, has Miles lost control of UF players? This wouldn't happen to any other coach!

do we really play down to easy team?

Posted by geauxaces on 10/6/15 at 3:09 pm
It seems the conventional wisdom, or should I say "Rant Wisdom" is that on a regular basis LSU, under Miles, doesn't put away easy team and "plays down" to the "rent-a-win" opponents. I was curious to see if this is actually true or just something that gets repeated over and over without any basis in fact. In the previous 5 season (not counting 2015) we've played 12 games that I considered to be rent-a-win games. Here are the results of those games listed by margin of victory.

Sam Houston State: 56-0
ULM: 51-0
Idaho: 63-14
NW State: 49-3
UAB: 56-17
W. Kentucky: 42-9
Furman: 48-16
Kent State: 45-13
ULM: 31-0
N. Texas: 41-14
McNeese ST: 31-10
Towson: 38-22

That's an average score of 39-8. The average win was by 31 points with 56 being the largest margin of victory and 16 points being the smallest. So in 5 seasons only 1 rent-a-win team even came within 3 touchdowns of beating LSU. Sure, a couple of these wins aren't as pretty as they should be, but I'll take consistent wins and more dominate performances than not over what most other fan bases deal with year in and year out.
But what your missing is "the law" and NFL or NBA participation have nothing to do with one another (or with drinking or the military for that matter). These are private organizations that can hire whomever they wish. Now, the law (not the constitution) does keep them from discriminating based on race, religion, etc and keeps them from firing anyone over 40 simply due to age. None of these things keep a private company from establishing a minimim age or experience requirement.

unconstitutional
. People throw this word around a lot. What part of the Constitution is being broken? The NFL, NBA, & MLB are all private organizations made up of private companies. It's not unconstitutional for a private company to establish hiring requirements. The constitution even has age requirements written into the articles for congress and president.
ARe you talked about what was announced this week?

if so, it all has to do with the new 4 team playoff that starts in a couple seasons. Basically, the SEC was shopping a place to send their champion along with the Big 12. They called it the "Champions Bowl" just as a code while they were shopping it. It basically came down to the cotton bowl and the sugar bowl. The sugar bowl one. It won't be called the champions bowl.

re: LSU's PETA Probelm

So Mike's the 1% I keep hearing about. If we're not careful, instead of PETA protesting we'll end up with an Occupy Mike's Habitat movement.

And he caters to a couple of teams that want second and third tier rivalries. If you told an average fan outside of the SEC that Auburn and UGA is considered a rivalry so we have to change the scheduling structure of the entire league to placate this "rivalry," they would look at you like you just told them a joke.

Since when did we start caring about the "average fan outside of the SEC?" They also think tailgating is cooking 8 hamburgers on a small weber grill 2 hours before the game.

I lived in GA for 5 years, and can tell you for a fact that the UGA/AU rivalry is huge there. They've played that game 115 times (started in 1890's but became annual after WW2). The series record is within 1 win (I think AU is up right now). Most of my friends in GA would rather beat AU than GTech.

The highlight of Thanksgiving was when one guy said, "we have the better team we just got out coached" and I responded "well how does it feel to get out coached by a retard because that's what you said Miles was last year?"

He has Bama shirts. He just refuses to wear them. I know exactly what he would say, cause it's what he says ever time he sees bama stuff (keep in mind he's 5) "eeewww gross, I say Geaux Tigers not Roll Tide."

Married To A Bama Fan

Posted by geauxaces on 12/22/11 at 9:08 am
I've been married to my Bama fan wife for 10 years. We're in AL today with her family for Christmas. There will be people up here all day long and the only other LSU fan I've got is my 5 year old son who, when asked, says "he hates the 'Roll Tide' cause they cheat." Which, of course, thoroughly pisses off his mom. Anyway, if today is anything like Thanksgiving I'll have to hear the same old crap all day about "beating a team twice" and "we really won, we just need a kicker." Pray for me brother, I just may stab one of these Gumps in the eye today.

If I can make it through today, we head to Baton Rouge tomorrow.

Can we stop this? Is this how every college player is going to be referenced online now? What happened to calling people what their mama intended for them to be called?
