He also claimed he didn't speak until he was 11 and couldn't read or write until he was 18. And that he had cancer, a stroke, locked in syndrome, and a few other insane medical issues.

A lot of prayer and just taking things day-by-day. My husband currently has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. There are a lot of smaller things we are dealing with as well, but terminal cancer is the looming shadow over our lives at the moment.
I also find just being open with people helps. No one wants to be vulnerable, but I have found that when I open up, others do the same. There are a lot of hurting people around us and we can draw a lot of strength and courage from others.
Also, people want to help. I have had to swallow my pride a lot on the last few months and ask for help because I couldn't be three places at once.

Does the student loan industry suck? Absolutely! The industry and colleges prey on vulnerable people.
At the same time, a college student should be smart to do basic math. If they aren't, college isn't for them.
I came from a poor family and was a first generation college student. My parents basically kicked me out at 18 so I had no choice but to live in student housing. I remember my mom telling me to just borrow money because I would be able to pay it off after college. I told her that was stupid because I wasn't guaranteed a good job. I went to the school that gave me the most money, worked multiple jobs, and was dirt poor through school. I managed to graduate with only 8k in loans that I paid off as quickly as possible.
College doesn't have to cost 100k! I live in TN and community college is free for students. The unfashionable state schools (which are great schools) have tuition of about 11k a year without financial aid. There are so many options!
At the same time, a college student should be smart to do basic math. If they aren't, college isn't for them.

An attorney I used to be acquainted with loved to tell about his encounter with David Allen Coe. He was hired for a collections case against him. Said DAC was a huge a-hole to deal with and claimed to be broke and couldn't pay the judgment. He was getting ready for work one and his secretary called him to say that one of DAC's song just hit the top ten list. He said he took off to the ASCAP office with the judgment to place a lien against the proceeds. He swears that DAC called him being as nice as pie trying to get him to remove it, and he told him to F- off just like DAC had told him so many times.
No idea if it's true, but I do know he was involved in a lot of high dollar collection cases.

This is my answer as well. I guess I expected the Grand Canyon to be as vast as it was so I didn't feel overwhelmed by the size. I did get freaked out when I got close to the edge.
The Badlands is just otherworldly. I felt like I was visiting a different planet.
I would also add Normandy. We visited last July and just seeing row after row after row of graves was just overwhelming. I felt so many emotions during that visit - sadness, pride, awe, sorrow, grief.

I used to know an older gentleman nicknamed Hershey who was an orphan raised in one of the homes started by Milton Hershey. He spoke very highly of his experience and how it shaped him.
We visited Hersheypark and the Hershey museum several years ago, and it was worth the visit. After hearing his story and visiting the museum, I walked away with a tremendous amount of respect for Milton Hershey.

Not, but I'm old. My daughters went to a private school where the two main history teachers they had were men who not only taught them history and government but also how to think and question things.
My youngest daughter competed in a scholarship competition where part of what they were evaluated on was debating a current event topic. She was shocked that most of the students she was grouped with argued based on emotions, and she was laying out an argument based on the constitution. She was offered a really good scholarship.

He was never actually a spare. The closest he's been is third in the line of succession. He had the sweetest gig ever. All.the advantages of royalty without any of the responsibility. He gave it all up for a D-List actress who preyed on his stupidity and insecurity, and is now making money be speaking to real estate agents at low-rent conferences and doing whatever he can to stay relevant. He is a petty, pathetic man.

It really depends. I've worked places that have mature, sensible leadership and they wouldn't take offense to someone using an unsolicited offer to negotiate a raise. I've done something similar and gotten a promotion.
You just have to know your audience, because they could do what others have said and have a vendetta against you after giving you a raise.
But many places don't have mature, sensible leadership. And I can almost guarantee that no place is going to match a 50k raise unless he is bringing in millions of revenue or has a skill set that can't easily be replaced. The job market is absolutely terrible right now, and in general, employees aren't in a position of strength unless they are irreplaceable in some way.
From an HR compensation standpoint, very few salary bands have a 50k difference, and they aren't going out of range for what they obviously consider fair compensation. Plus, jacking his salary up means that they now have to look at everyone else in that pay band so that 50k can become 500k if they have to bump other people up or others get disgruntled because he is now making 50k more than them.
If he feels like he deserves it from his current employer, I think he should make a case why his skill set is 50k more valuable and spell out what he brings to the table.

Also, if your wife has a port, get her a shirt designed with a zipper that gives easy access to the port. There are a lot available on Amazon.
My husband is currently going through chemo for pancreatic cancer (now Stage 4 after a failed Whipple). Right now, he spends about 6 hours in the chair every two weeks, and then he wears a pump for 46 hours. Amazingly, he has had pretty minimal side effects so far - hiccups, fatigue, and some brain fog.
There are rumors that he had Michael chemically castrated to keep his voice from changing which would explain some of Michael's weirdness. I am not saying I believe it, but it is a fairly persistent rumor.

I think he really was the bad. Reports of his abusive nature have been going around for as long as I can remember.
My husband developed sepsis earlier this year. He has pancreatic cancer and was undergoing chemo at the time so the symptoms he was having seemed to be from the chemo (nauseous and intense shivering). He never ran a fever. We now know the shivering is a huge red flag for sepsis, but even his oncologist wasn't concerned at the time.
Long story short, the liver stent he had put in due to his pancreatic cancer was blocked and had caused a massive infection. They replaced his stent, and he was in the hospital for over a week and had to take intravenous antibiotics 3 times a day for 6 weeks afterwards.
About a month later, he started shivering again and we went to the ER immediately. He was dealing with another massive infection from his stent being blocked and wound up in the ICU.
All that to say, the symptoms that were expected like a fever, body aches, and pain weren't present (he did run a fever after he was hospitalized). His only symptom both times was uncontrollable shivering.

That show left out a lot of Betty's craziness and wasn't fully accurate. And she didn't put him through med and law school. His family paid for med school and he and Betty married after he graduated. He did go to law school after they were married.
Dan was likely not a good human, but Betty wasn't an innocent victim. She is the definition of someone with a personality disorder. She was getting paid a lot of money each month in alimony, had a paid off home, and had a boyfriend. And she still was so bitter that she murdered him! She was also extremely abusive to their kids.
