Don't the usually also broadcast ESPN+ content on an SECNetwork alternate?

That would be a total payout of $630M-$980M for 14 teams. How can they do that with only a $250M a year deal? I'll hire that accountant!

The actual SEC payout this year was $44.6 M (from bowl/playoff payouts and existing ESPN contract)

LINK

According to SBD, the new ESPN contract is in the "low $300 million range"

So, that means at a minimum, (300-55)/15 = an additional $16.3 M per year for each SEC school, so around $60M

My guess is that the $70M figure is either forgetting that the SEC takes a cut and are forgetting to remove CBS's $55 M payout.

Usually lurk and never post. Hopefully I've got this formatted right for your forum software.

But that begs the question....what are these rules?

To play a football game, the SEC has established minimum thresholds of at least 53 scholarship players available to participate and the following minimum number of position scholarship players available to begin a game: seven (7) offensive linemen (which includes one center), one (1) quarterback and four (4) defensive linemen. The impacted institution has the option to play the game with fewer than the 53 scholarship players or fewer than the minimum number of position players listed above if it elects to do so. Otherwise, upon approval by the Commissioner, the game would be rescheduled or declared a no contest.
I think this is accurate for UF:
