re: Has Denham Springs @ Live Oak turned into one of the bigger games in the state?
Posted by I survived Curly on 9/29/18 at 10:23 am
As someone who has a kid there, I can comment on the Live Oak situation and educate some of you who only follow the "powerhouses" of High School Football and easily dismiss Live Oak because they sucked in the past and "it's just poor old Livingston Parish"
The football facility, school and weight room are brand new. Easily one of the finest facilities in the state. Brett Beard is a fantastic coach for those of you who aren't aware of his previous stops and experience taking teams and rebuilding them into regular playoff contenders. He has the team many times stronger than in the past. He stresses intense discipline and focus on the small things. The team does not beat itself. They have been to the playoffs every year he's been there and they nearly beat one your "so called powerhouses Acadiana High last year in the semi-finals. The stadium was packed and loud for the home games against Denham Springs.
But hey, you guys keep dismissing them and focus on your "power schools. We like sneaking up on people anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe our last two victories at Florida were at night and we seem to lose more daytime road games and win more nighttime road games. Just saying

Try sitting through the Hallman years in the 90s as a student. That will make you appreciate it all the more.

I remember reading his posts back when Alabama had just hired Saban. Very classy guy.
RIP and prayers sent to your family.

Any news on Greg Robinson?

Does anyone know the latest with him? I don’t want anyone to plagiarize info from any paid sites, just want to see if we are in better shape with him after the Bama game or if Auburn still leads.”
Thanks.
Thanks.

re: Who are your favorite college football announcers?

Ron Franklin, I agree is the best. He was pretty neutral in most games, but I sensed he was always more pro-LSU especially after he narrated that 100 years of LSU football special for us back in 1994 I believe.
"LSU needs the 45 yard line to keep this drive going."

Do they pick up Alabama on their schedule next year?
Does anyone know the latest on Brandon West?

re: how to you all see the AU/LSU game playing out on Sat.?
Posted by I survived Curly on 3/5/09 at 11:25 am
Our weakness is on the interior. Fortunately for us, AU does not have a big man but instead relies on shorter quicker players.
It is always difficult to win there. I could see it going either way. The ESPNs of the world seem to be ignoring AU and its hot streak.
I'm hopeful for a win. Hate to see us go into the tourney on a downslide.

Judging by their 3 pages of traffic ripping LSU and the state of Louisiana, I'd say you succeeded.
