The old "Ive not been contacted" rountine can be misconstrued....maybe his agent has been though! So he is telling the truth and maybe not all the truth? Remember that all coaches in major programs have their agents filter things and handle contracts and money. Im not saying Les's agent has been contacted...just merely trying to point out that he could be telling the truth and yet not revealing things. I hope he stays at LSU...he is good for SEC football and is colorful.
Im an impartial observer and watched the game last night on tv and this couch coach was very impressed with Ware...very fast and tough determined runner.

Jeff Driskel won the Elite 11 competition against all the top qbs in passing skills and knowledge. Very bright dedicated young man. You cant predict how high school players will perform in college but he does hav the skillset to be very good.
You folks have it all wrong....its the Univ of New Jersey @ Coral Gables....get it right! Schnelly did get the school back on the map...in the early 70s there was talk about disbanding the football program because of $$.
They dont pay kids there...they just dont have the funds. BTW..I remember UF game with the Univ of NJ @ Coral Gables real well...Schnelly had his kicker kick a FG with a minute left in the game to make it 31-3....its ok...we have gotten even with them.
The NCAA will hit AU anyway....BUT will it be with a hammer or a sledghammer? Thats why AU is smart not to play him and play the "dutiful abide by rules" card this late in the game to save some face. If they choose to play him today the AU brass are stone cold nuts and will be looking at a LONG LONG LONG NCAA sanctioned sentence with a lot of lost schollys....they will be lucky to beat Vandy in the years to come.
AU fans will wish they were dead after a couple of years go by and the loss of schollys and no bowl games and forfeiture of 2010 games makes recruits and younger players go elsewhere. When the AU fans see 2012-2017 seasons go 4-8, 5-7, 6-6, 5-7, 4-8 & 6-6....they will have fond memories of Cheezit.

The NCAA will let players transfer from AU because of the sanctions and they wont have to sit out a year.
I love college sports...I dont care for the NFL or NBA personally. I want to see amatuer athletes compete. Newton is NOT an amatuer athlete and is ineligible obviously.

AU was informed back in JANUARY that Miss St filed a complaint about Newtons recruitment and if THAT doesnt get your attention...then what does???? Institutional control was used against USCw in the Bush fiasco and AU is way way way worse off in this case. Schools have an obligation to make SURE they put athletes on the field that are eligible.

AU can choose to play Cam today....but I think they know the gig is up and they can save "some" face by preventing him from playing now. The NCAA is going to take a wrecking ball to AU anyway...but why add another year of scholly reductions or bowl eligibility?

The FBI is questioning Kenny Rogers on Tuesday and the AU/Newton family are sheeting on themselves as I type...because the FBI doesnt mess around. The FBI is investigating if the Newtons extorted $$ which what they did basically. The Newtons will roll all OVER AU to save their azzs..because they need to save their necks...they will have to paint AU as very willing to pay $$ for Camns services.

Get some popcorn and watch the drama. Gee...could it be possible LSU & UF play again in Hotlanta? Of course we have to beat USCw and AU has to lose twice.
The FBI is going to question Kenny Rogers on Tuesday...the freaking FBI !!! They are involved because of the possibility that this is extortion and thats what it is really. The Newtons are pooping in their pants and will roll all over AU.

AU could play Newton today...but they also know that the NCAA is going to be pizzed off when judgement day comes. This was reported back in January and AU was advised back THEN that MSU filed a complaint about Newtons recruitment. AU hoped it would go away...so much for that happening huh?

The bottom line is that AU is suppose to have institutional control and was informed back in Jan about Newton & MSU. Schools are supposed to be dilligent in making sure players are eligible and I have a feeling AU has been informed by the NCAA & the SEC that it doesnt look good and they are playing Cam at their own risk.

If AU is smart they will cut their losses now and at least "appear" to be above board and not letting Newton play to save face. If they are dumb and say screw it...well....the loveiest village on the plains will look like Atlanta when Sherman marched through it after the NCAA gets done with it.
Sorry...dont waste time watching the mutts play the barners....the mutts are puppies and will wet themselves....cheer up though...if the gumps beat them...you guys might...just might get your ticket punched....but worry about that Arkie game cause they could upset the apple cart.

re: Rushing defense

Thats how you win games...stop the opponent from running and be able to run. UF & USC both stopped Bama from running...but unfortunately we were in the red zone 4 times and kept shooting ourselves in teh foot and we played giveaway. I thought LSUs defense gave them a chance to win this game...just needed a little offense...any team that can execute the over head bouncing ball lateral from a kick holder is destined to win games.
Being an outsider and SEC fan...I have no dog in this hunt...but I do think a wounded tiger will be waiting for Bama and your defense is certainly capable of holding down Bamas run game..the real question is whether your offense can keep Bamas offense on the bench long enough.
From an outsider...I watcheed the game and the 4th down try was a puzzle...it was so off based..and I wonder what the actual playcall was? Lee was certainly confused and after a timeout it would seem like a good play call with a scenario with it would be called. I just think he was better at just throwing it up for grabs was better option...it WAS 4th down anyway! He should have been told that. Dont worry about a pick if play breaks down. You had to got for it on 4th down..robo qb was taking your lunch money and you probably werent getting ball back with any time left. AU only punted three times in the game.
The truth is this though...LSU didnt deserve to win after giving up that much yardage on the ground...honestly.Its amazing that the game was that close. I was surprised at how easily they ran on you guys...LSU was the best defense in the SEC.

re: We are spoiled!

I can show you spoiled...just go over to Gator board and the meltdown...2 BCS titles in 2006 & 2008 and a 12-0 regular season in 2009 isnt good enough when you lose a lot of talent and have a hiccup one year.
Dont you know how to defense AU? Anytime they go back to pass...drop 7 in coverage and then let
# 2 run hog wild on your silly azzes. Geez..did ANYONE actually BELIEVE he was going to throw the ball? He cant throw worth a lick and hit a barnside at 10 paces....but he damn can sure run the ball. Ive never seen a 7 point game where it looked like the other team was losing by 30 points. He ran like he had a stolen laptop in a shopping bag. We have to go play AU next year at their damnest village on the plains...hell..we might get lucky and beat UGA & USC & Vandy and get the consolation prize of playing them in Hotlanta in December...whoppee! Anyone old enough to remember Jimmy Sidle when he played at AU? I remember we lost to AU 19-0 lost to LSU 14-0 and Ga Tech 9-0 in 1963...and tied Miss St. But we beat Bama in big upset in Tuscaloosa 10-6.
I thought UF vs UGA was already set in concrete for that time slot? Not that we deserve it ....mind you.
Imho LSU needs to go to the spread offense with a touch of pro passing....all you need is a 6'3 to 6'7 tall quarterback that is 235 to 255 lbs ...runs like a deer and hits like a mack truck. If y'all find one of those qbs please let me know....he dont need to throw the ball none,...just pretend he is going to.

I'll be watching from easy chair since the Gators are playing off week earlier in the day. It will be fun watching SEC's best defense against SECs best offense running the ball. Somethings gotta give.

The problem is homefield for you guys...but if you can get your offense to control the clock and run it...keeping Newton on the bench...then you have chance...the team with the most rushing yds will win.

Someone going to the game should hold up sign that says " Cam Newton Stole My Laptop "
