I think it’s gonna get over your way Bosceaux, for days now it’s been showing the snow starting at 4am here and it actually started around 1:30. Still plenty of moisture moving up from the Gulf.

Stopped here in Opelousas at the moment, not sure how much we got but it was enough to turn the roofs and vehicles white, can still see some grass poking up though. Also had a huge arse owl fly right by my head when I was sitting on the porch, posted up in a tree like 10 feet away and just watched the snow with me for a bit. Pretty cool.

Bosceaux, if you like to follow stuff like this you might like storm2k if you don’t already know about it. Really useful during hurricane season, they have pro-Mets and guys from the aircrew of the hurricane hunters that post often. Here’s the link to the winter storm:

Opelousas had a few snowflakes an hour ago, but nothing since. Weather app on phone says moderate snow expected in 35 mins. Who knows.

There’s an app you can download for your phone called mPing that allows you to see and report meteorological conditions in real-time. I’m seeing lots of reports of snow in Houston and Cenla (Alexandria mostly). IOS has it for sure, not sure if it’s available on android.

I’d love to go sit on my deer stand if we get a couple inches, my favorite hunting memories are of hanging off the side of a tree in Telegraph Texas as a young man, watching the snow and hoping for a big buck or axis to walk out.
