I worked at Angola in Classification back in the 90’s and had a guy serving life as an HFC for felony credit card theft out of Orleans.
The inmate probably didn't mention he procured the credit card mugging someone at gunpoint. He probably also didn't mention his pervious prison stints.
I'm about the biggest "bleeding heart" you'll ever meet. I believe people who serve their time should have an opportunity to reenter society and become a functional citizen. I believe someone who has genuinely changed shouldn't have to live with a crime hanging over his head forever. I'm against locking people up for drugs crimes.
However, I've learned from experience that the vast majority of people in prison absolutely earned the sentence being served. I don't deny that there are false convictions and maybe a very tiny number of people who just got a "raw deal" but the vast majority of prisoners are dysfunctional sociopaths that 100% belong in prison.
The storyline of the guy who "just took the wrong path" or "fell in with the wrong crowd" is horseshite and any con who gives you such a story is full of shite. The former inmate that has truly earned a second chance will tell you "prison saved my life."

3 strikes = three serious felonies. Anyone in prison for 10+ years is in for more than bad checks and simple weed possession.

Wow! Beto used a Uvalde press conference to make a scene. Beto is a psychopath.

I saw an article that listed Biden's approval rating at 17% (sorry I can't provide link.) If Biden's approval rating is really, under 20% in WV, Manchin is saving Manchin.

The article says "design defect." Where did you see Chinese steel?

Bad idea. In politics, fundraising is priority number one. Party power is with the party fundraisers.
Moreover, fundraising is not just measured in dollars. "First time donors" are golden. The vast majority of donations come from people who've donated to previous campaigns. A first time donor will donate again with the proper persuasion,
"The squad" bring in new donors. If you add your name to the donor roll of a squad member, you're empwering the squad and amplifing the squad's message.
"The squad" may have fringe views but Amplify any message loud enough and long enough and the message moves from fringe to mainstream.

re: Update on Fox News ignoring 2000 Mules and their threat against Dinesh.

Tucker had the Wendi Strauch from True the Vote on his show. She discussed her work, which is new evidence for what we all already know - the 2020 election was stolen. Why should Tucker promote Dinesh D'Souza new documentary? D'Souza documentaries overpromise and underdeliver. I suspect 2000 mules is no different.
I won't defend war porn promoter Fox News but I don't blame Tucker for declining to promote D'Souza.

I disagree. The Brandon regime is flawless executing a plan to make America poor and stupid. The Brandon regime is intentionally shrinking the economy from the bottom up and middle out. If someone had told me two years ago that I would witness an American president intentionally harm the American people, I would have said IMPOSSIBLE but here we are.
This regime deserves only digust from the American people and anyone not digustEd is not paying attention. I'm writing this without hyperbole or exaggeration. If we had an honest media, heads would be literally be rolling.

The "leadership" of both parties are the top fundraisers. Corporations that do business with China have lots of funds. Rs and Ds want lots of funds. It's not rocket science.
If anyone needs confirmation, China has no problem with Russia's military operations in Ukraine. Name one politician condemning China? Mitt can call Tucker and Tulsi trators with all the self righteousness in DC but Mitt's not too vocal when it comes to China.
R and D are two sides of the same coin.

re: Twitter hires Goldman Sachs to advise that Elon's offer is too low
Posted by millerf43 on 4/14/22 at 10:31 am
My suspicion is Elon's made the offer to put Twitter's board on the hot seat. He knows that Twitter's board will reject the offer.
There's no untapped value in Twitter. Twitter's developers are currently working on a "edit button." They're not exactly innovating over there. Moreover, Twitter will likely continue to lose market share as the "big tech" platfom is very vulnerable to competitors. Twitter sells ads, cancels dissenters, and pushes propaganda, which is not a sustainable in my opinion.
Until there are major changes in Twitter's management and culture, this will very likely be the most Twiiter is ever worth.
