People are gonna forget how good Holman/Jump were last year.
How does he have eligibility left?
I really like the base we got right now. We have 4 starters who are all capable and crafty scorers who are comfortable with the ball in their hands, and a decent bench with Givens, Miller, Mackinnon, and Nwoko. We have seen CMM's team get better each year defensively so if we can keep that trend going the floor is definitely going to improve.
Outside shooting is a definitely an important aspect, but if you live by it you also die by it. It is also just not the case that King or Thomas are incapable of scoring from deep. I would take Haggerty or Claude in a heartbeat and let Mackinnon or Mosley be our shooters.

I would also argue that the league will be taking a step back as well A&M and Miss State will become must wins.

Damn, I was liking our chances with him.
I hope we move our attention to Zachary Davis next.
Honestly think this teams needs one more player, preferably a decent two way off ball guard , who isn’t afraid to take 3 and can hit them, young with power 4 starting experience, but preferably has 3 years of eligibility left.

So VJ Miller or even Adam Miller ??
I agree we gotta get another scorer, but I think King will be solid as well. Would love to go for Parker out of Mcneese.
I like the expanded roster specifically for LSU, take a chance on a local kid with some promise and see if you can turn him into something. Maybe he turns into Marlon Taylor or Jordan Wright. Specifically I would look for athletic off ball guards or wings.
Yes I know Taylor was from Florida but he wasn’t highly recruited.
To Batman's point Louisiana has some underrated talent if you can find and develop them. Sadly recently LSU hasn't been able to tap into recently like Baylor and Houston have.
Wright and Carter weren't highly rated recruits out of high school, but they got coached up and became good. Import some overseas Bigs and supplementary transfers and you could be something every 2 or 3 years.
LSU-A has some pretty good younger guards as well. Isaiah Howard and EJ McQuillan both played at Port Allen, definitely not big names, but the kids can play. Howard is a good trigger man, but with Thomas, Givens, and Reece I doubt we pick up another.

Bailey was not a hidden gem

I disagree with you about Bailey, he was an experienced versatile player, who played with energy, and solid fundamentals. He just wasn't a threat from deep, especially in the corner. But there is a reason that when we were down Chest, and Reed CMM he started him at the 4
Now as far as taking minutes from VJ I definitely agree with you that VJ should have played more, but those minutes should have cut into an aggregate of players not just Bailey.
I think we are good on bigs, got to like what we got coming in and coming back. The improvement of Collins and Reed during the offseason and Rob Miller during the season was a welcome sign from coach Wilson. Throw in the portal additions and we may have something there. I expect the bigs to do their jobs effectively next year.

Now the guard play has definitely left much too be desired under CMM, and he has not been able to effectively install his offense to any success in his time here. The ball movement has been way too stagnant and predictable I expect that too change with Thomas as the trigger man.

Our last remaking spots should be used for pursuing capable guards preferably who can defend. Considering the off ball guards still available, I hope we did our due diligence in an attempt to retain VJ Miller and gave him a strong arse offer because he could play and with 3 years of eligibility left is something you could build around.

Chandler Jackson should be on the top of the list for our coaching staff, and hopefully a hidden gem like Dji Bailey.
If Cam Carter can come back. I still hope we go for Chandler Jackson, much better player than his stats show. Experienced guard who plays good team defense and has solid fundamentals. Just isn't much of a 3 point shooter or rebounder.
I think Givens showed decent improvement throughout the year; I see him being a good sixth man later in his career hopefully comparable to Weaver from Texas. I do think CMM deserves to be judged compared to how he turns out and develops.
I disagree on Bailey, wasn't a highly rated portal prospect, but was a decent find. Just couldn't shoot a 3 from the corner.
It’s just gonna cut into the Roofers margins

Why not assume it’s Lathon Ransom?
Weren’t we really in on his recruitment outta high school?
I think he is in good standing with the team, doesn't appear hurt in shootaround, just think he is taking a redshirt. Hope we can keep him around next year.
Dude can play, he was a force as a true freshman at Arkansas.
I think he is in good standing just taking a redshirt year and transferring.
Gives full effort in warm ups and cheering from the bench, you can tell he cares for the team.
Would love to see him stick around, but doubt it.
