re: LSU football to play Southern in ‘22 and Grambling in ‘23

If they're going to play FCS every season anyway, there's no good reason it shouldn't be Louisiana schools. Keep the money in state and rotate it among each one. I like this move.

Rights belong to the home team's conference. I can't see the Southland granting them to SEC Network.
ESPN has first dibs on Southland programming, but SECN is not an option. They could pick games up as ESPN3 exclusives if they choose to do so.

I want this to be CST's last LSU game. hopefully they can work it out that SECN+ can do non conference away games too.

WatchESPN is blacked out there. You can watch it on Cox Sports TV.

FYI on Southland games, ESPN has first dibs. Sometimes they'll take a game against a power conference opponent, but not often. So we still want to get it on TV somehow.
CST has stepped up to pay the freight the past couple of years. Any time LSU visits a Southland school, odds are it'll end up on CST.

re: Somebody make a decision SLU or SELU?

I think the domain name had something to do with it. SLU dot edu was taken by Saint Louis U. Southeastern dot edu was taken by a university in DC. So, someone made the decision to go with SELU dot edu.
The university in DC shut down, so Southeastern now has that address and is shifting away from selu dot edu.

If you live in Louisiana, you can only see it on CST. Find a friend who gets it if you don't!

Sold out has nothing to do with it. Would be the same whether it was sold out or only one person there. It is about CST. In their territory, they want people watching CST and not ESPN3. CST, CSS and many other outlets do the same thing for a lot of other games.
I know its unfortunate if you can't get CST on your cable system. But if CST wasn't televising the game, nobody would be. So, not taking anything away from you... Merely giving something extra to those who can get it. I hope that makes sense.

Check that affiliate list link, Pilot. CST is available in parts of the Washington DC market.

They just have some random Cox cable systems in outlying areas that carry CST. Not sure why, but check the affiliate list. Any market that has CST on a cable system is blacked out on ESPN3. Their call.

FYI for those in Dallas/Fort Worth, the game is on TXA 21. Surprised they didn't syndicate it to CST or a Baton Rouge station.

Dad told him: "It's not going to be free this time."
Newton's dad said it was going to take between $100k-$180k to get his son.
Said he witnessed a meeting between Newton's dad and a pair of MSU coaches, and lawyer said "he's not going to answer that" when Ian Fitzsimmons asked him to I.D. the coaches.

No live TV, just tape delay. First broadcast Friday 3:30pm on WHNO. WHNO is doing all of the Tulane games on tape delay, except Ole Miss (due to ESPN).

Surprised Cox would have a different line-up in Lafayette than Baton Rouge. We get WGN in standard and HD here.
