As if it isn't a mess already, the four power conferences are on the verge of making rules that will force universities to violate their own state laws.
The power conferences are absolutely right to do so. Sooner the better.

5? The oddsmakers have us at one. The Giants at home.

a defense who has regressed in pretty much every stat over the last 5 years
New defensive coordinator and scheme, new players like Reid and Godchaux. Lattimore wasn't a factor last year and Adebo was hurt early so DBs are a wash at worst compared to 2024. Older Demario and Honey Badger, sure, but that doesn't mean they fall off a cliff from last year. DL the same or better.

Olave is injury prone and already had a few concussions.
So? That happened last year. If we get anything from Olave this season it's a step up.

Kamara isn't the same player he was even just 3 years ago, and Miller cant stay on the field more than 30 mins at a time it seems.
Also same as last year, except now we at least have Devin Neal as well.

Same healthy starter this year. Moreau coming off an injury does not make this unit appreciably different than last year.

Our OL might be a strength this year
This is called "burying the lede", and a really good OL makes a huge difference.

Do we really expect a 26 Yr old who's never played a down of NFL football to be our white knight this year,
This part I can't argue. If Shough plays like Rattler did last year, we're fricked. Is that what you're expecting?

Again, I'm not trying to be delusional, I wouldn't be surprised at a 5 win season, I just don't agree the perception that the players on the team now are worse than the players we put on the field last year (unless Derek Carr was carrying us), and our coaches should be better than DA.
Serious question, not sunshine pumping. Saints won 5 last season with horrible injury luck and horrible coaching. We have the 2nd easiest schedule in the NFL this year. We have new coaches. I'd like to think the injury luck will balance out a bit. Why are all the projections I see for 5 wins or less? Did the team get worse?

Colonel’s Club
OMG I ate there this weekend and it was so awful. $32 Lobster Roll was a mushy mayonnaise mess. Short rib debris sandwich was a soggy over-seasoned sloppy joe. Fried rice was all peas and carrots. And how do you screw up a club sandwich? The thing was basically oily avocado and a gristly chicken breast. Will not be back.

Should mention the bar area was really cool and the gyoza appetizer was good. Probably a nice bar scene for hipper people than me, but I wouldn't eat dinner there.
She hasn't been fired because women's softball is not worth the effort. Will probably be phased out once revenue sharing kicks in.

Dedra was the most compelling character in the entire series.

Slander! Where's my Syril hive at?!

Even if we get a few nice things with Moore and the draft, NOLA has shown we can’t keep it together long.
Yeah, we only had 10+ years of success with Sean and Drew. Why couldn't they keep that together for 20? Losers.

Not for long, right? At this point isn't the Battle of Yavin at most a couple weeks away? Rouge One covers 4-5 days, then A New Hope is another 3-5 days, and then the Death Star is kaput.
Poor Dedra. Worst case scenario ending for her.

Dang, and here I thought you didn't like the pick! As a fellow Shough believer, I appreciate your non-biased fact sharing and admire your ability to keep your opinion to yourself.

Somebody who has followed things more than I have off-screen can probably answer this, but I'm pretty sure they're trying to stay away from bringing Palpatine physically into the series. So I'd be really surprised if they have something like this.
I think you're right, but I'm pretty sure Lonnie has a force-choking coming his way from somebody. No way he gets out clean.
I 100% believe this. No other explanation makes sense.

wish you guys would stop pretending the first 2 hours of that movie were anything other than absolute dogshite.
Not to mention Padme just dies for no reason, sadness I guess?, totally ruining a halfway decent character. The only good thing in the entire prequel trilogy was duel of the fates - and Lucas kills Maul off.

That finally started in his 7th year of college. For real?

This is how I know not to take you seriously. You have no fricking idea what you are talking about.

As the rest of us know, Shough started for Oregon during the COVID year. Shough was the named the starter all 3 seasons at Texas Tech and was MVP of the Texas Bowl against Ole Miss, but had 2 season-ending injuries and missed a chunk of the other season with injury.

You need to stop showing your ignorant arse to the rest of us, it's embarrassing.

re: Trade Coming ?

To me it makes sense to give the new coaching staff a season to evaluate the team and figure out where they really need help before signing an expensive FA or spending draft capital on a trade. Who knows if the Saints will see it that way.
Was the phone recovered from the bear's stool the next day?

So this will be my potential problem with the Shough pick (I don’t mind it right now). If we suck this year, Shough just looks like a rookie QB, and we pass on a top QB prospect I’ll be livid.
this is a very specific and unlikely scenario, but if Shough looks like a "rookie QB" and we suck enough to have a top five pick, we're not going to pass on a top QB. That's a 2-3 win season! Rest assured, we will not pass on Arch Manning because Shough looked OK as a rookie. More likely scenario is he looks like a rookie and we're picking 10-15. More difficult call there.

Todd McShay said the same thing about McVay liking Shough and potentially taking him in the 2nd to learn for a year or two under Stafford. Albert Breer told Ryan Rusillo on his podcast that Kevin Stefanski was a Shough guy, and the Browns could've picked him before us in the 3rd if we'd passed in the 2nd.

Historically, the odds are very much against a 2nd round QB. But to argue the NFL didn't see Shough as a 2nd or 3rd round talent is just nuts. In this draft, where we were picking, he was probably our best bet outside of the top 10. Some may like Dart more, but that's personal preference rather than a real difference in them as prospects.
