It is an interesting dilemna. For the religious it helps in procreation and they are not concerned with characteristics. I believe they also can screen for downs etc but not sure. I would want to know that but I know some do not.

daughter in law is doing IVF with 5 eggs. The first did not work so there are 4 left. She was able to get pregnant without (too long a story) but she is religious and will try with the other 4.
Was interesting how they grade them, etc. I approve under the right circumstance but certainly a slippery slope and not sure how I would go if I could decide height/weight/gender and other characteristics.
