Southern Jews, like most Southerners of an recent-ish immigrant minority, tend to be great.
Yeah a lot of posts hit on it, but by and large, Jewish population in the Deep South has had a pretty fair shake. A lot of well regarded politicians, businessmen, etc, well above their numbers, and even further back, plenty of Jews suited up for the Confederacy.

I think about this a lot. It can get messy at times, but I don’t know where else you’d go. Especially if your family goes back hundreds of years, there’s really not a whole lot of other memory to draw on or that resonates.

The dynamic of that era of plantation life is really interesting.
It really was—you may be able to catch a shadow or glimpse of it in some deep parts of the South, but it’s all but gone.

Little did Humphreys McGee, scion of a Mississippi plantation family, know that a random jam band would noodle off with his name decades later.

Basically any of the top girl names of 1950. I keep thinking of that Conway Twitty song for Linda, no Gen Z would have it on their mind.

Know there’s newer iterations, but boxy Volvo wagons. For the XC70s I dig wipers on the headlights.
Station wagons all but extinct.

Because of the in-state admissions standards OM will take almost anybody with a pulse.
If you are a strong in-state student they will absolutely shower you with $ and scholarships.
Sadly, then a good number of those student end up moving out of state to ATL, Nashville, Dallas, etc.
Also helps that OM is (relatively) close to a lot of large population centers in the Southeast.

Just buy Barbri and do at least 80% of the lessons/homework.
Look at old test questions from last 5 or so years.

Local on the 8s music used to slap. Lot of smooth jazz, deep classic rock tracks, jam band, and a bit of new age thrown in the mix.
Some good playlists on Spotify with all the tracks.
Except when there was a hurricane coming, then they would play a dramatic score so you’d pay more attention.

Let out a big groan when I saw Gordon retconned the long standing Dr Plantz billboard on I110 up the Governor’s Mansion curve.
Basically the same sign, but now with Gordon.
