Thanks all.

It’s never much money sitting there long and never paid attention if it was earning interest.

Money market fund advice E Trade

Posted by bobdylan on 4/15/25 at 10:56 am
I make IRA contributions every two weeks and primary investment doesn’t allow fractional share purchasing and it generally takes several deposits to have enough to purchase the fund.

In the interim while my cash is in my IRA but before I have enough to purchase the ETF, is there a money market fund the board would recommend?

Platform I use is E Trade.

Thanks.

Good luck.

Went yesterday and saw three does towards the end of shooting light. Closest they were was about 45 yards.

That wind was brutal.

What down do you have and is it too noisy for bow hunting?

They’re illegal in federal lands I hunt and still see them. Don’t think outlawing them would stop the use.

I don’t listen to every show, I’m about 40 minutes into this one and I haven’t laughed this hard in a while.

They have a guy on from Costa Rica explaining how he got into hunting and it’s great.

A lot to unpack with your post but my philosophy is don’t spend $ (new vehicle) to save a % of that, unless you need that asset anyway.

Was current vehicle depreciated? If so, you’ll potentially have a gain and tax if you trade it or sell it.

Just curious - what was your butcher block sealed with? Was there a regular maintenance you had, and if so what was it?

Tire Help - Tundra

Posted by bobdylan on 8/16/24 at 1:53 pm
I think I’m needing new tires soon.

Thanks to the OB, I got Falken wild peaks last time which have checked all the boxes and were much more affordable than BFG all terrain I had before.

Since last time I bought them, they’re way more expensive however. So before biting the bullet, curious if there are any alternatives I should consider?

I do use my truck to go down gravel roads and the occasional old forest road as much as my schedule allows me to go hunting.

It’s nice to have the AT tire when needed but not sure if a highway tire wouldn’t also work (or if gravel roads would eat them up)?

It’s been a few years since I went down this rabbit hole but I think the millennium is hard to be (weight). another viable option would be making one if you have the means (I know that several people go that route that hunt the marsh). I’m not sure if they can build one that comes in under 36 lbs though.

Please let us know your experience - I still toy with the idea myself.

Thanks everyone.

This may be a very dumb question, but I don’t think any of the wires are ground to the trailer, the ground wires go to the pigtail that plugs to the truck - is that not possible? I’m not out looking at it but almost positive that’s how it is and if so, was working that way for years, so not sure how to figure out if it’s a ground issue with this configuration?

I have another trailer so I can see if its lights are working or if it’s my truck. That plug tester is a heck of an idea!

Boat trailer light help

Posted by bobdylan on 6/13/24 at 8:53 pm
I loathe boat trailers. I seem to have bad luck with bearings, tires and lights.

Doesn’t help that I’m not handy.

A few years ago I replaced the trailer lights and wiring. I soldered the connections, ran the wires tucked away and in one of those plastic protectors. I added silicone around the seal of the light housing. They’re LED lights.

Nothing is working on the right light all of a sudden. I got under there and all the connections look good. How should I go about troubleshooting what the problem is?
