Two things: 1) boot on the throat, show no mercy, and 2) for the love of god, bring back common sense gas can nozzles!!
Amen Jax. The hike from beach to top of Suribachi isn’t for the weak. Been there twice. Also, cave networks were a marvel of engineering.

Yes, I’m done. They doubled down.

“Over the last month, Costco has emerged from the war on DEI as somewhat of a hero. They chose early and definitively to keep their DEI efforts alive. Fans of their actions rejoiced. And yesterday, 19 states AGs collectively sent them a letter warning them to stop their efforts.”

Benoit’s in Addis, worth the drive
Spent last two years at Parris Island…he locked his knees. Saw it every graduation in summer, occasionally in winter too. None of the others broke bearing. Supernumerary pulled him off. Hate it for that young Marine.

LA-born NFL WRs

NFL leading WRs.

Also, one not like the other!
There are certainly religious underpinnings to our relationship, but from strictly a foreign policy perspective, having a reliable democratic (parliamentary republic) ally, with a damn capable military, amidst the hornets nest of the resource rich Middle East can’t be overstated.

It’s a small step, but not nothing. The course is being fully mowed. Some holes have been maintained by homeowners with zero-turn, so those holes still look like a golf course. Many holes had grown well over 6 feet in brush…all are being mowed.

Insert Jim Carey’s “so you’re saying there’s a chance?!”
Gaetz takes full confirmation attack from Dems, lessening focus on other noms; fails confirmation. He is then appointed by Ron to Back-fill Rubio’s vacated senate seat. Lara Trump runs for Gaetz’s vacated house seat.

I wasn’t ROTC either. The draw is a full ride to a potentially really good school with only a 4 year service obligation…pretty strong ROI. For example, out of state tuition to A&M is 40k/year. In state is about a third of that, so for out-of-staters, that’s a great ROI. Sent a number of kids to Rice too, a really good but expense school. The benefit of ROTC, at least in my view, is one gets the full college experience paid for to be a Marine.

I was a frat guy who went into the Corps after college, but had nearly a dozen ROTC brothers who had a great college experience. They prolly also benefitted from the Gunny putting a foot in their arse if they missed class. Win-win to me.

Fully agree with this list. I’ve spent many years on MC recruiting duty and watched us source Marine Option ROTC scholarships to those schools in an order that would only differ slightly with posted list. We get 25% of every Naval academy class, or approx 275 per year (though 400ish apply to be Marine each year). A couple Marines from West Point and Colorado Springs each year.
I would never advise a kid to turn down an Academy appointment, but find the ROTC option to be a stellar opportunity to experience college and optimize academic experience, especially for boys.

If you have a 10th or 11th grader think they may be interested in a ROTC scholarship, start early and try to meet the “early board” timelines.

Was at the main clubhouse a few weeks ago, our daughter’s rehearsal dinner will be there in May. Looked great. The bar on the creekside of building was in ready-to-use condition. Entire building in good shape. They are hosting events there now.
As I understand it, the first payment was made in June, the second due in Jan 25, then a year for the third payment. Have heard nothing about grounds work and see no evidence of activity.
But the fond memories of post-round bet settling in the bar or a Friday night burger and beer, not to mention many dinners in dining room a few decades ago…I know it is a long, long shot (like me reaching 9 in two or birdieing 17!) but oh how I wish it could be returned to the Bluffs of past.

Anybody remember the club tournament about 10 years ago that featured former pro Brian Bateman - beat Tiger at 07 Buick - and a local guy that was a glorious, tense finish over final 4 holes?! Truly epic! 50 or more carts and hundred or so people around 17 and 18? Long, winding down hill off camber birdie for the win! Brian was stellar but local guy won.

She got run over by a damned old train
