OU didn't show up that game. Losing a first round, pro bowl running back hurt our run game in the worse way. But, no. hats off, you guys played better that night.

And just for the record OU is 3-1-1 against Alabama all time. You other guys can be scared of them. WE ARE OU! We don't back down from anybody

um, Murray struggled at A&M because A&M sucks. OU develops QB's. It wasn't the defenses of the SEC, it was the coaching staff at A&M.
you might want to check OU's record against the SEC in the last couple of years. Hell.....do it all time if you want.

I never thought a fanbase would match the crush that Clemson fans have for the SEC. Then this year happened

Funny, you know what both Clemson and OU have in common?

They're both teams that don't take sh*t from the SEC and have smacked them around lately.

When you own a conference. Your able to talk some smack. It's just how it works.
And Texas didn't have its Two best defensive players.

Georgia fans, don't let this bother you though.
Their fans seem like that 11 year old that sees boobs for the first time and wont shut up about them. Act like you've been here!

OU 41 Georgia 24

Oklahoma Breakdown by WG_DawgI didn't want to start a new thread so I'll put this here. Some channel has a 30 minute long season recap for each playoff team, I think it's called "road to the playoffs" or something, and I watched oklahoma's yesterday. Honestly, I now actually feel better about the game than I did. Obviously, BM is extremely good. Great. There's no way around that. But what I really noticed was that most of his passes were based on simply being accurate on medium/deep routes and his WRs making a play on the DB. 2 things about that: -We've faced plenty of accurate QBs before, but the thing that makes me feel better is that you can at least do something about that. What's truly scary to me is a passing game like Wuerffel used to have at UF that was based on timing, there's a lot less you can do about that. When the ball is leaving the QB's hand before the WR has even made a move yet, but it ends up where the WR is eventually going ot be, that's ridiculously hard to stop or disrupt. I don't see that from baker, I see precision passing often times in not the best coverage. -A lot of the highlights of big pass plays were throwing medium/long passes and WRs having some cushion on the DB. I believe Baker/Mcgee will probably be a better duo than anyone they've faced this year so I feel better about that. I also feel our pass rush will be better than any they've seen this year -On many of their successful plays to the TE, the guy is streaking down or across the middle with basically no opposition. SEveral plays I didn't see a LB within 5-8 years of the guy. I have to think Roquan along with a month to prepare will alleviate that

This is a pretty good assessment of our passing game. But what a LOT of people outside of our conference fail to realize is that OU is not a typical spread offense. We have fullbacks, tight ends, and H-backs. We run the ball at OU that's pretty obvious by the way we put running backs into the NFL. We're not Texas Tech. Bob Stoops always believed in being balance on the offensive side of the ball and Lincoln Riley believes in that same Philosophy. We average 216 yards on the ground. You average 263. 45 yards of difference. That's where we're different. I really think you'll be surprised at how well we run the ball against you guys.

I could see OU putting 38 on us (I predicted 35) but if you think OU is holding to 24 points you are in for a rude awakening. UGA will score 45+ on OU.

45? Man that's a lot. Don't see that happening, but we're all about to find out in about 2 weeks.

Curious. What happened in the South Carolina game that had your offense only score 24?

OU 38 Georgia 24.

I can't state it enough. Your defense will not know up from down throughout this game.

Lincoln Riley's playcalling with the balance that OU plays with, will blow this one open.

What if we watched the first Auburn game you played this year?

See how easy that was?

For Best Offensive Line Unit. Finalists: Bama, Auburn, ND (Semi-Finalists included: Stanford, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Georgia) GA's D faced 2 award finalists a total of 3 times: ND & AUx2. Bodes well for the Dawg D in terms of experience & expectations vs OU's OLine. Meanwhile, OU's average defense faces the best OLine they've seen all year. If football is a game won or lost in the trenches, advantage GA.

Don't bring up the Joe Moore award around us Sooner fans.

To us, the Joe Moore award lost all credibility when they picked a Auburn team that allowed 11 sacks in one game as a finalist.

That should tell you all you need to know about that award.

That and OU was the highest scoring team of all time when they faced UF in the NCG, they didnt score half their avg against the Gator D.

So thats the mindset of SEC fans when fans of Big 12 teams come here talking big about their offense.

We lost Demarrco Murray the game before Florida to an injury. He's OU's all-time leading scorer. You've probably heard of him right? To say he wouldn't have made a difference would be comical. Probably the best player on the field along side Percy Harvin.

The SEC was mediocre last season.

In a playoff or championship scenario, Oklahoma has scored a combined 28 points vs SEC teams.

You're not playing a team from Alabama or Tennessee this time.

Texas A&M 41, Mobilehoma 13
Florida 24, Mobilehoma 14
LSU 21, Mobilehoma 14

I'm seeing a trend.

1. Congrats on beating a terrible OU team in the cotton bowl 10 years ago. Remember when we beat you guys 77-0 and Bob stoops had the referees run the clock the whole fourth quarter....LOL. You left the Big 12 because OU spanked that *ss over and over. Hard to take you serious.

2. Lost Demarrco Murray the game before Florida to a knee injury or that game is completely different.

3. throwing in the end zone to tie that game as time expired. Nothing to complain about there.

You wanna talk about the 35 points we dropped on Tennessee? How about the 35 we dropped on the SEC's best defense last year in Auburn? Big bad Alabama?........45 on them too.

I'm seeing a trend too....

To me it's the chicken or the egg theory.

Does the sec play great defense because of the crappy offenses they see every week?

Does Oklahoma play great offense because of the crappy defenses they see every week.

The great thing about this argument is....we're about to figure it out in 3 weeks.

As much as each side believes they're right. It's probably in the middle on both sides.

"Well you SEC fans love to brag about how competitive and tough your league is do you not? If your flagship program finds itself down 6 starters in a game against a middle of the pack team in your league, that middle of the pack team should be able to win that game if your league is truly competitive as you say it is. That's what a competitive league really looks like right?

Meanwhile, Bama skated through your league with a MASH unit on defense and a smoke show of an offense all year long and it didn't catch up to them until they played their rival Auburn, and they still made the playoffs. Even when Saban has one of his "less than stellar teams" none of you can do anything about it.

And isn't that what Bob Stoops was talking about? Yes......yes it is."

Very good point IMO!

Were you also missing 6 starters when Baylor had the ball with a chance to win it with a minute left in the game?

When your Oklahoma, you're everyone's super bowl. It's just the way it is when you've been selected at the number one school all-time. Teams like Baylor and Iowa State hang their season on beating you.
