This is all radio theatre. Cowherd has learned from Finebaum that the best way to build caller volume is to bait SEC teams.

The problem is it’s a simulcast and no longer involves callers. It’s basically a Cowherd editorial. At least Kristine Leahy is cute. When Colin was with ESPN he pumped up SEC...since Fox has Big 10 tv rights, he now pumps up Big 10. But his man crush on Urban Meyer is a bit much..at times I suspect he wants to drop to his knees and show Urban just how much he admires him

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Close your eyes and imagine the scene:

The 17-year-old recruit walks into Nick Saban's corner office on the second floor of the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility just off Bryant Drive in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. At the sight of the 5-star high school player and his family, Saban rises from behind his massive cherry desk and presses a button on a remote control, which shuts the door.

The coach loves this trick and smiles devilishly. There's a liquid glimmer of mischief in his eyes, revealing a side to Saban the recruit has never seen on television.

The recruit notices that, even in the dim light of Saban's inner sanctum—where the shades are usually drawn, as if to conceal secrets—the three national championship rings on a coffee table gleam brilliantly, like sunshine bouncing off the ocean. Saban guides the player and his family onto an overstuffed sofa. The coach takes a seat across from them in an easy chair. Between them are the rings. Then Nicholas Lou Saban Jr., age 63, lays on his singular brand of the hard sell.

We will win championships here. You see these rings? We'll get more of those. And I will prepare you for the NFL. We've had more NFL draft picks in the last five years than anyone. Anyone. The best come here. You'll have to earn your way onto the field as well as your right to stay on it. We have a process here. It's an everyday thing. We focus on what is directly in front of us, not end results. We want you, but know that we will win with or without

Which was their last Championship. So why change is what I’m asking. They don’t appear to lack the personnel

My point wasn’t about last night...these stats are for the entire year. Same with last year

This isn’t a bash Bama thread. I went to Birmingham Southern and am a Bama fan when they don’t play UGA.

And my point wasn’t based on last night. It’s the entire season. Bama st their best is a smash mouth, run it down your throat team. You know it’s coming, good luck stoping it. My question is why the deviation in philosophy? Is the OL not as dominant?

Bama: Rushing Leaders

With their abundance of talented running backs, isn’t it odd that Hurts leads the team with 85 rushing attempts. Harris averages 8.5 ypc but averages less than 10 carries per game. Any theories on this? I know RPO has changed college football, but this seems odd. Is Bama trying to prepare Hurts to possibly become an NFL qb or are they doing what Meyer did to Tebow...using his athleticism and not giving a crap about his development as a qb
Slow your roll, bud. Ramsey is straight up garbage...lol. Running the wing T or option at Camden ruined his future as a qb.
Assuming only 1 SEC team makes the playoff, UGA (if still undefeated) should play the backups against Auburn. The game would literally be meaningless...except it’s fun to kick Auburn’s arse. But the backups, with Eason, could pull off a W
Saban endorses Coach O and recommends he be appointed Coach for Life at LSU.

Just like Pete Carroll giving Sarkisian his Stamp of Approval and urging Quinn to hire him as OC. Quinn & the Falcons we’re punked by Carroll.
His South Carolina teams were a juggernaut...on defense.
Is there a quote on this? I’d love to read his comparison of the 2.

I prefer Sarah Spain because she is openly sexual on air and won’t apologize for it...
Guess you are right. Which roster had more talent in your opinion: 2008 or 2012
It wasn’t my opinion. Just relaying the info cause his Big 10 bias is an FS1 agenda.
If only 1 SEC team makes the playoff, UGA ought to play the backups against Auburn if they are still undefeated at that point. The game would have no value to UGA. Win or lose, their fate is determined against Bama
You may be right. When Tree blocked the fg and went for 6 I was convinced it was our year. That was the most talented roster in America.
If Saban was on the sideline for UGA that day, who wins?
I actually don’t mind Cowherd. But his love fest for Big 10 teams and their coaches is nauseating. Of course it has nothing to do with FS1 & Big 10 partnering up. On his show today he declared that the SECCG is a playoff game and the loser should be out of consideration. He thinks Penn State, despite not winning its division, let alone conference, is more deserving than a 1 loss Bama or UGA. To him, since it’s played on a neutral field the issue is decided. Do you agree?

Despite all that, Kristine Leahy makes the show worth while
We still have to prove it on the field. We had the better roster in 2012, but when the game went off script in the SECCG, Saban was the x-factor. If he coached UGA that year, we would have won the championship. Hopefully Kirby is up to the task. He can recruit like Saban, but to dethrone Bama you have to outcoach him. Time will tell.
