re: Terrence Cody VS T-Bob: Who You Got?
Posted by stickmann on 10/26/09 at 7:10 pm to genuineLSUtiger
Cody and it's not even close. The guy is a house and T-Bob can't block a single-wide. Maybe they can coach him up on a Cody beating technique. God, I hope so...
Bryce Brown impressed me. For a guy that has been in the TN system for less than 2 months he looked really impressive.
I actually think Kiffin (as much as I hate his retarded, smack talking guts) has done a good job of positioning TN to win. In 2 years they will be beating FL and GA and in the race for the east every year...

I think the coaches see a team that can play really terribly and still win as a 'good' team. I think they are right. Until we play someone with a real resume (ala Florida, Alabama) and win.
As long as we don't lose we'll get the benefit of the doubt from pollsters. If we lose the big game(s) badly then we will feel the wrath of god when the next poll comes out...

We could get 3 yards per carry with a good old fashioned I formation up the gut. Why go option so much? It's not working and it is really risky too... Seriously, I don't get it...
Ooh, look, KW off tackle. Old school offense works...

Crowton's offense is terrible. The trickery and the constant audibles totally ruins the flow of the game. Also, I think we play too many guys everywhere. Pick the best guy for the job and then let him own his position.
I think that the never ending player rotations and Crowton's silly arse BYU offense are a terrible fit for the talent we have. There isn't a single guy on the field that looks comfortable...

Yup. And your penis is small, you stop 'really' working by 2:30 everyday, and you feel like you skill-set is being wasted in your current work environment.
The kid is 22-23. Stop being a douche.

I agree with Ed Reed. From St Rose and he went to The U. Sucked for us.
Garrett could definitely play a defensive specialist role. Probably one of the best defenders in SEC history. He could shutdown most 2 guards IMO.
re: CWS Reflection: Does LSU win without Helenihi at 3rd?
Posted by stickmann on 6/26/09 at 7:15 pm to Meauxjeaux
Man he sucks with the bat in his hand but his fielding really was clutch. I'll say that we probably would have won without Helenihi but we would have had 1-2 errors (from Hanover) that would have made the outcome questionable.
We still win (I think) but Helenihi helped us get there even without his bat.

lol. I did not know that! Where did you come across that little info nugget?
Chuck and Reggie in the backfield together would be a great combo. Who knows, maybe he'll be around when the Saints (hopefully) pick in the very late 1st. but my guess is that he'll be gone by then. I think he gets 1200 yards and 4 ypr this year. Would be a nice pickup for anyone with those numbers.

I think you know what I was saying. Some guys are prima donna players. Chuck is not a prima donna. He is a guy that will do whatever it takes to win. That's a nice quality for a rb.

The guy has spent his career looking over his shoulder and trying to be an "everyman". When he gets to the nfl he will be told what to be and do really well. Some GM will say "I want you to run over people" or they will say I want you to be able to pick hole and get me the yards that way". He will get a pretty good wonderlick. He's not a dummy like most guys that ultimately get into the league. I think he does well at the next level.
Jerome Bettis had a pretty good career being a non-prototypical back. They don't all need to be Ladanian Tomlinson... I love a big bruising back that can get you the yards. :-)
I think what I love about Scott is that he's just a football player. He will knock the snot out of someone if he needs to, he can juke 1 or 2 guys and turn a 3 yarder into a 8 yarder, and if he sees daylight he'll get you 20-30. He is perfect.
Also, he runs without bending his legs very much which means his knees don't take a beating.
I think he is a can't lose choice if you want a bull. He can easily put on 20 pounds and be a battering ram or lose 20 and be a shifty/quick back.

It blows me away that everyone assumes that a back needs to run a 4.4 to be a good rb in the nfl. If Scott gets a 1000+ yard season he will be taken in the first round. If you need 3 yards and a first down he is the man. No doubt.
He is a a quality power back. I can't think of a better one as far as I am concerned. If you want to run a clock management offense and just own the line he's your man.

With Gruden gone I'm thinking Clayton will have a breakout year. Gruden always went out of his way to make Clayton feel like a red-headed stepchild. Clayton has always had the talent...
