I grew up in the panhandle and have many friends that went to Tech. I’m seeing story after story from them of just how personable he was.

Leach seemed either to be unaware or not care about his fame. He continued on being the exact same wacky personable man he always was.
Though I never met him in person, Leach always felt like an old friend to me. Even before he coached at State. I can’t think of many other famous people that had the same effect.
In the college football world — and the world in general — everything’s become so corrupted, corporatized, and formalized. But Leach ran counter to all of it.

To many he represented better days, before image and messaging became paramount in our lives.

This loss hurts so many on so many levels, not least of which his family. But it feels like we also lost an avatar of honesty. A symbol of who we used to be, before cancel culture reared its head.

Death tends to make saints of the departed, and I’m not trying to say Leach was one. But he was certainly a good man who wasn’t afraid to speak what he believed. In this world that’s true bravery. And I hope to do better by emulating his example.

This sums up Ole Miss even better than Jaxson Dart.

Switch out “North” for “Central” then it’s good. Bama/Auburn may not be Appalachian, but they’re certainly not northern
Saw somewhere that SEC Network mused about this alignment. I'm good with it.

You can’t have both

- Incorporate UT/OU into the SEC
- Maintain every annual rivalry in the SEC
Love how Bama fans try to frame the need to play TN as a matter of tradition instead of an annual steamroll
