re: Foundation Repair Question
Posted by OeauxMy on 4/29/25 at 8:20 pm
Have you had a structural engineer come out and look at it?
I thought for sure we would need foundation work. Started to see some cracks in the wall/ceiling seams foundation work is getting pretty common in our neighborhood.
Paid like $400 to have an engineer come out and make a report. We had a .4% grade which was well within design spec. Advised AGAINST having any foundation work done, and instead supplied a plan to ensure it stays that way.

You do realize they took everything with teeth out of the bill that was passed to avoid the governor’s veto…
They could have called it what ever they wanted. Just because the package was called “tort reform” doesn’t mean shite about it’s true intentiins

good, let the kids make their money. if school are too poor to pay then let the rich feast!
Where do you draw the line? Are schools “ poor” if they don’t see ROI on a player? What if the kid demands 10 million, 20 million, hell 50 million a year?
It’s not about poor, it’s about being financially responsible.
Personally I think you’re just following ut fans’ shtick of “Texas has so much money”
I’m all about kids making money here, but to turn it into a poor/rich argument is infantile.

I would guess you are taking supplements and maybe started taking them weeks before you actually began to work out?
How’d you know? I guess that was stupid to do.
Not weeks, but did follow recommended direction for creatine a week before. 5mg twice a day for the week before.

Not sure if you are serious. Permanent kidney damage was a real concern. If I didn’t improve the day that I saw the doctor I was headed to the ER.
I’m not going to quit. Will just be smarter about ramping up to more strenuous exercise.

Objectives… just get stronger, gain some muscle mass, loose some weight, metabolic health, all of the other benefits that I understand of lifting.
This came after a leg day and a day before a back and back/biceps day. Never thought it was a problem to isolate different groups on different days.
Really wasn’t moving big weight, just high rep sets.
What would be a better way to “train like an athlete”?

Recently started working out again after being stagnant for years. Didn’t really ramp up and just jumped into a pretty tough program.
The day after a chest and tricep day, my triceps were unbearably sore. Limited movement, constant pain. It got worse two days after, which I expected, and remained on day 3 & 4. I just attributed it to not lifting in a while. Then came the general exhaustion, lack of appetite, and cola colored urine. Miserable…
Went to the doc… got an IV, drank nearly 3 gallons of water and started getting better the next day
A week removed my arms still feel very week, can barely do a push up.
Anybody deal with this? How long before you regained strength? I read weeks to months, but hope that is not the case.

Limiting where players can be in the field just seems silly. Hell, put everybody in the outfield if you want to. Bring an outfielder in to play as a 5th infielder.
If you don’t like the shift learn to hit against it. No different than adjusting your lineup to have an advantage against the opposing pitching.
Limiting the shift, to me, equates to not allowing a pitching change for a better matching against a player that doesn’t hit from a particular side well.

I hunted there two weeks ago. It was a heck of a time.
Guides had all suppressed 300 winmag’s. I brought my suppressed 30-06, loaded with 175 grain Federal Terminal Ascent. I took a 500lb bull at 250 yards with a single well placed shot. He went maybe 20 yards. That bullet did good work, I was really impressed.
Guides bullets were Barnes, I believe TSX.

San Marcos or New Braunfels. Anywhere between Buda and Shertz gives you a lot of the San Antonio vibe with lout the “city-ness”

The median time to diagnosis was 2 months (range, 0.25–20 months). The longest times to diagnosis occurred in children older than 5 years and in patients with supratentorial tumors or low-grade glioma. We did not observe any differences in the time to diagnosis according to sex, socioeconomic status, or urban or rural origin. Looks like they caught it pretty early at 39 days.
This should be reposted every time LSU’s liability is discussed. Not sure what LSU could have done differently. Is every football player that throws up or had headaches during/after practice supposed to get an MRI??

There was a fire in Colorado a while back called the gun range fire ( or something close to that. Determined fire was started from an FMJ bullet making sparks
I did see a video a month or so ago with a range master talking about fmj’s starting a fire in the rubber pellet backstop some ranges use.
Probably very rare, but I’m sure it’s possible. Maybe an insurance requirement

CZ has a Scout model 457 that I’d highly recommend
I have the 457 American, and it is a sweet little gun. Great fit and feel. If you were choosing a gun for me thanks what I’d pick. There are trigger upgrades available, but I think the stock trigger is pretty good as is
I also believe the bolt action will teach a young hunter to slow down and focus on what they are doing.

100% agree.
It really tames down the recoil too, which I consider an equally beneficial part of using a can.
I have a 30 cal suppressor that is right at half a pound all in. You can not feel it at the end of a 24” barrel.

Are you, or your buddy, hunting as well?
I believe that youth must be accompanied by a licensed adult. You’re good on youth being able to shoot a deer with the $7 license.

Fans should have thrown all of their trash on the field to give the refs some time to reverse their calls
