I prefer leaving at about 4am
This, I'm quite the early bird so I don't mind. Get up super early, throw the kids in their seats in their PJs, hit the road and arrive with a nice chunk of the day left to do stuff, and since I'm up around 5am most days, I can still function for the day.

I tried one a few months ago and thought it was pretty bad, really strong chemical/artificial flavoring taste.
re: Taking 8 month old to beach next weekend. What are your must brings?

You've got to have shade, we have a Neso Grande, works great, easy to setup, packs down about the size of a loaf of bread. We also had one of those pop up baby tents, gave us a nice place to let the kid lay down/take a nap if they would. I'd also suggest a backpack ice chest, the bigger the better, we'd bring bottles, juice, snacks, sunscreen etc. and the backpack ones are easier to load up and carry around.
Biggest tip is patience, some kids love it, other's hate it, take what they'll give you at that age, it might be great, it might now.

re: Lady’s purse cost

I got lucky, my wife doesn’t really care much about purses, her most expensive one was ~$400 that she was gifted probably close to 10 years ago. I just bought her one for Mother’s Day that was $700, she didn’t really ask for it but showed it to me and other friends and probably was about the most I’d heard her talking about a single item ever. She was completely surprised to actually get it. I like fishing stuff, so that can get expensive.

No, probably meant he has his own tent with AC, at $33/night that means he just rented one of the RV spots to have electricity. The primative tent spots on the beach sites are $18/night.

I was convinced at the 0:30 mark that thing was about to Teach Me How to Dougie. What a letdown.

One of the best things we ever did was quit using the local CVS/Walgreens/Box store pharmacy and started using the local place right down the street. Most of the time they have any prescriptions ready within the hour of being called in. No more waiting in line, no more dealing with someone with a pissy attitude, no more day+ wait for things to be ready, no more "Oh we're out of that one, you'll need to go to have it transferred to our other location to be filled".

It's a restaurant but they haven't said the name/type yet, just that it's owned/being remodeled by the same guy that owns El Paso and Pedros, so safe bet, a mexican restaurant.

Yes, but there's light at the end of the tunnel, headed to Grand Isle this weekend and next to hopefully put a dent in the trout population. :nana:
Mother's Day, an out-of-state graduation, my kid's birthday, Friday night teeball games, concert in Mississippi, etc etc. We have one last tee ball game this friday then headed south. Seems like we've had something every weekend for about the last 2 months.
My little girl did dancing for the first time last year and I'm lowkey thankful she hated it as they schedule their recitals every year on Memorial Day Weekend and I wasn't thrilled about that.

Somehow my glove when I was a kid got misplaced or thrown away probably 20+ years ago, I never even considered this. Off to scour Ebay. It was a black Rawlings with Darryl Strawberry's signature. My youngest just started tee ball and I was thinking that I need to get a glove to throw with the kids, I'll go this route instead.

I've gotten to the point that I sort of hate-watch his channel. The TT Gallardo and Fast & Furious Murcielago were probably his last great builds that were easy to follow along with and had some continuity, though I don't think he ever 100% completed the Gallardo and its always in the background covered in dust. The Murci got sold off to fund the P1 build but he's got the second movie car stored away somewhere that was used in the stunt show that has a POS v6 in it, but he also already owns the engine/trans that originally came from that car.
Since then its just been random projects or starting something and never really completing it, or completing it and it just being some longform "I'm done with XYZ" video instead of a followable series. That dude just has entirely too many projects going at once.

Strad's Koenigsegg lease is running him something like $36,000 per month, he recently did a video where his monthly expenses is around $70,000 per month.
I really don't understand these guys getting into these hypercars outside of dream car status, though I'm convinced Ed thinks he can speak the value of Veyrons into appreciation and Hoovie is just along for the ride.
I do enjoy their content though, Ed, Hoovie, Tavarish, Matt Armstrong, Big Time, Donut Media, etc. all put out some good stuff.
Still a bit irritated that Tavarish is ditching the hybrid system on the P1, I'll still follow along just to see it through to completion(one day) but he's getting alot of shite for ditching the hybrid components.

Fun fact, I actually made this meme, posted it to all the 4Runner Facebook groups and r/4Runner not expecting it to go viral for the 6th Gen like it did, I probably should've watermarked that one.

I'm in the minority, but I'm not a huge hybrid fan.
The more I read, the more my opinion is that hybrids just add another complex system to a vehicle that is typically already very efficient.
In other words, too much sugar for a dime
The 4Runner has always been endearing to 4Runner enthusiast because of it's simplicity. We, any many others, bought a 4Runner knowing it's not the fastest, not the most fuel efficient, not the most overloaded with tech and massive screens, but you can count on the 5th Gen getting you there and back for many trouble-free miles/years at a modest price. We currently intend to keep ours for the long haul. They took all of those qualities that people loved and threw them in the trash. Now it's just another over-teched, overcomplicated, overpriced SUV that still doesn't get that great of mileage with crappy packaging for the hybrid/turbo crap.
Also, it's ugly. The catfish/double Hulk mustache is terrible. Someone found out the Tacoma front end is a direct bolt on, I suspect this swap to get pretty popular.

While I'm happy for them, how the hell can a restaurant open up less than 4 hours after having 2 feet of flood water in it?
By 7am this morning the water had already drained out, that corner where they are located floods pretty regularly, so they're pros at it by now. Push out the majority of it, shop vac, mop, etc. It's not uncommon for them to flood then be open just a few hours later, it sucks but they've been there for a while now so they know the drill. I'd assume they've learned by now to keep product/things up off the ground to reduce loss.

The water is already gone and it doesn't start until 5pm today so they should have plenty of time to get things cleaned up, I would be quite surprised if there's any delays at all.

We got some pizzas, cannolis, and a tiramisu back when they were selling pizzas out of their house and it was fantastic, we've been meaning to go give the restaurant a try.
