Imma get drunk and fire off some rounds. Then I'm going to work.

If it were anywhere but Texas I'd assume that that was just tough talk by the cops. They don't make those prosecutorial decisions.

But it's Texas.
Ha. Assuming she manages to get herself together and lead a productive life, this will make one hell of a story one day.

Lol that was good. And so true.
I think your post is pessimistic and a bit whiny, but I will say that I believe most parents, educators, and mentors today are doing a poor job of preparing children for the practical aspects of life. Expectations are all out of whack. People don't know the very basics of money management. Many young people (in their 20s) have no idea how to handle a serious relationship, etc.

And your point about work is wrong. I'm actually convinced that in many fields you could chop about 30% of the labor force and get similar production. White collar workers all over the country spend a lot of time on the internet, smoking and joking around the water cooler, etc. There isn't enough work to go around (especially in government). But putting all of those people out of work would be bad for the economy and society.

LSU is in kind of a tough spot. You have a good coach who just can't quite get you to the top (at least he got you there once). LSU and Georgia are pretty comparable in talent, though I'd probably give LSU the nod, so a lot of fans probably salivate at the possibilities if they get a coach who can come up with the right formula. But there's a much greater chance you'll end up in the wilderness for a few years like Florida after Urban Meyer left and like Tennessee. Face it, until Saban leaves, Bama is going to be #1 in the West and in the conference. THat's not really Les Miles' fault. You can try to bring in a new staff, but there's a lot more floor under you than ceiling.

"That is why the 2012 game slipped away. That is why the 2013 4th quarter slipped away. That is why they stumbled in 2014. That is why Fournette couldn't buy a yard of a** in a Memphis strpclub in 2015. Bama is in the BB's heads.
This is how rivalries end up one sided, one team gets in the others heads. Its how the Chiefs went 18-3 vs. the Raiders in the 1990s. Raiders went winless in KC for 10 straight seasons.

Observations of a knowledgeable football historian."

I tend to agree. I think it's more that Saban is in Miles' head. Saw the same thing with Urban and Richt. I doubt LSU will beat Bama until either Saban or Miles leaves.

Ole Miss sucks for sure. Aside from Georgia, I don't really have much love for the rest of the SEC anyway.
"If I'm a parent in this situation, I would hope my kid picks MSU. I know he/she would wind up with a cowbell attached to his/her hip and would develop a weird twang with a shitty education, but at least they wouldn't be a racist cheater with a shitty education."

Lol.
