I think Mullen has done a good job. Problem is he may have hit his ceiling. He is having trouble keeping assistant coaches. Many of them don't even move their families to Starkville. If he would quit flirting with other schools and commit to state he could probably stay there as long as he wants. If ole miss does not get hit with serious sanctions he's probably in trouble and knows that too. I think it all depends on the NCAA ruling. No way state beats ole miss this year in Oxford and that would be three losses in a row. I think after this year he will be 1-5 vs freeze.

This is why any school negotiates with the NCAA. Do you really think a school would just accept a bowl ban a crippling sanctions? Do you have any idea how important afootball program and its money are worth to a state university. NCAA is treading water basically. Trust me, they know this.

Everyone has an agenda. The only problem with this is what is actually in the NOA. There really isn't much about pay for play. It's about the ACT. That's the worst part. The rest is loan cars ( and tunsil was already suspended for half the season), hotel rooms and a booster paying 800 dollars to tunsils stepdad. I may be missing it but where are the serious pay for play allegations? The other level 1 with Herbert Moore will certainly get thrown out. I know one of the individuals involved here in Memphis and it's not a level 1. I do think Ole Miss is cheating but I just don't think they have enough proof to hammer them without a serious fricking legal battle to follow. NCAA does not want to public ally lose another legal battle. My prediction is 15 scholarships and no bowl ban.

I guess we would probably know by now if another SEC school was being investigated. They already have Davis Saunders and know who he helped. This was widespread at one point.

I know that ULL and now Ole Miss are both getting hammered by the NCAA for the testing center in waynesboro. Does anyone think this is a trend and the NCAA will go after the other SEC schools that used waynesboro? I know Alonzo Lawrence qualified there for Alabama and Thames and Dixon for Mississippi State. Not sure about others but is anyone concerned?
re: Ole Miss Sanctions - Based on What We Know

The problem is the NCAA spent 100 hours with Miller and access to phones and bank accounts. What they found was a booster paid 800 dollars and 8 night free lodging at a hotel and Tunsil admitted to sleeping staying at a coaches house for two nights. This is absolutely not like the USC case. The majority of the penalties will be similar to ULL and maybe a couple of more scholarships. Ole Miss has already spent 1.5 million in legal fees and I will guarantee you the NCAA knows this and absolutely does not want the public to see them lose another legal battle. Also the SEC does not want a bowl ban. Not saying ole miss doesn't deserve it, but from what they have found and can document, if they try to give ole miss a bowl ban, this will turn into a legal battle. Bowl ban will not happen. There not enough here for a bowl ban.
re: Ole Miss comparisons to the USC case...

Problem is they can not connect coaching staff to the pay. I think the punishment will be more than ULL but similar. I know about the Memphis booster and it's a not a clear case. Herbert Moore was not a 5 or even 4 stat recruit. Just happened to be in the wrong van on college trips. If you look at what ole miss is charged with there is no pay for play. It's a bunch of hotel rooms and loan rental cars. Could get a bowl ban but Unfortunately it probably will not happen.

4. I don't think there will be a postseason ban. I think the NCAA would love to do it but knows ole miss will file suit and eat their lunch in a legal battle.
