I don’t know it is accurate but Dave Neal said under 40 degrees at kickoff
It was ugly but it should not have surprised anyone...based on Kentucky’s style and performance this season, there was no way Kirby was going to try to win it with offense (pass game.). This was always going to be about grinding out a win.

If I (just a regular guy nobody)knows that we have to score more and be more aggressive next week, then obviously our professional coaches do to.

Now if our qb are in the right mental place is the $$$ question.

Nope...it usually just not worth it to actually post...better just to read info provided from others...and I normally just glaze over the crazy but the amount of angst this season has been amazing (depressing) and this thread is a microcosm and I felt compelled.

I mean yes this whole season was joyless and frustrating. And yes it feels like coach has been stubborn (see the senator's post this weekend on it.) And yes the bowl situation is messy.

But I lived through the 90s and 00s when beating Florida felt like a dream so three straight pretty easily while maintaing a better roster while basically flipping mindsets with them and at least making the secc still matters to me.

I want more just like everyone else.
It definitely isn't normal but in today's world the fact is it is the least important game of the season.

It is basically a scrimmage with minimal impact. We win we finish 4th in the polls and if we lose we drop lower. We went through this drill last season and it had no impact for us this season (it did for Texas.)

I agree it looks bad and it might mean something is off and it almost definitely means changes will need to be made.

But it is personal choice how we each respond to adversity (and I use that word loosely since folks posting here prob are not in a position to actually affect change.)

I know for a fact I can't so I will cheer for the kids and hope folks with much more skin in the game will try to make the necessary improvements.

And if they don't (or won't like so many here fear) then eventually changes will be made for them...because that is how it goes.

The 3 tight championship games with bama:
1. NC game first- the sack on first down to make it 2 and 26 with their kicker just missing at the end of regulation to then blow the coverage was sudden...
2. 2012 game- played gritty against a better team and was the the doorstep and lost on flukely play. Bama burying ND adds to the missed opportunity.
3. This year- this game was more frustrating that painful because my expectations were less and I was proud of how the boys played ... fantastic growth this season...the missed fg was big momentum wise, so was coming up half a yard short on the next possession after the pick on the subsequent bama possession.

Success breeds arrogance which leads to stubborn obstinancy (not just in coaching.) It sometimes
takes failure to effect change...having said that, our changing QBs going into Jacksonville in the recent past has been fraught with regret...i'd be lying if I said it didn't make me at least alittle nervous...jake will probably start but my money is on is a more definitive plan for #1 going forward...
