Koppe Bridge on wellborn for a burger.

Want to kill time go walk around Zachary engineering building. Impressive set up.

Walk around Aggie park by the stadium. Place wasn’t even there 4 years ago. Impressive that they added that right outside the stadium.

Other than you aren’t paying to be there annd in some cases they pay you? Plus other benefits like at some schools you’re guaranteed to get into the major of choice.

Don’t forget wrestling the last 2 years as well. Someone said this in another thread but it really is true. Academically, Catholic is more in line with Brother Martin than it is with Jesuit.

Not really even close. This is a down year for national merits at Catholic. They had 10. Last year Catholic had 17 and brother Martin had 2. They are usually around 5.

At the top end Catholic and Jesuit are close. Jesuit definitely pulls the top students from a larger population compared to Catholic. If you’re an upper tier Catholic grade school student in New Orleans you’re going to Jesuit

As for comparing the Louisiana national merits to other states it’s easy to do by looking at the index cutoff by state. Louisiana upper tier students are fine. It’s the lower tier kids that kill the system.

Geez Their website had 32 and 25 I assumed 32 was semis and 25 was finalists Turns out 32 was commended, 25 semi finalist, and 19 were finalist The only point of the entire post was Catholic and Jesuit are in their own tier. Jesuit only having 19 only furthers the point Catholic and Jesuit are close as hell

You’re right they are close. But Jesuit is always way up there.

But you still got it wrong. Jesuit had 19 semifinalists. 10 commended. 3 “other” which is usually a Hispanic recognition (and they are very casual with their identification of Hispanic)

Not sure how many ended up finalists. Usually the two schools make sure they do what they need to do to get finalist if they were semi finalist.

They end up civil engineers from lsu like the rummel kid from above. (Kidding!)

Also true, but at least they won’t have student loans from tuition to pay off.

Get back to me in 10 years and let me know what those guys are doing, then I'll be impressed...

I’m sure it makes you feel better to say something like that. But odds say the majority of these guys will be mechanical engineers, doctors and rocket scientists.

Your initial post before edit said 32. That’s wrong. That’s commended. Means nothing.

And correct about Catholic finalists. 17 semi and 16 finalist. One of the kids didn’t do what he needed to do to get finalist for Catholic.

And again my iniyual post was right. 25 is way off and a completely fabricated number.

Jesuit had 25 national merit finalists

They had 19 semifinalists (still tops in state). Not sure where you got 25 finalists. Catholic had 17.

see no reason why he can’t play professional soccer at some level. There are many leagues and many levels. Max Cavana(a former Catholic High player) is a professional player. We are not talking about the EPL level. Relax.

Yeah. I know Max very well. This kid is a good player, but I think “relax” is some good advice to you in this one.

“relax” is is about right for you

You are joking, right?
Congrats on embarrassing LSU fans on two different boards with this stupid claim.
Pretty sure LSU Band would be 131.

Porters steakhouse and then walk around century square. North gate has a surprising amount and variety of bars.

If you want a good burger while there hit the original koppe bridge bar and grill on wellborn.
The only survivor actually from Indianapolis. Went on to be a firefighter in indy for years. There is a statue of him downtown. As a kid I never saw him without that "scrambled eggs" uss Indianapolis hat. great Uncle Jimmy

So he never played with them? Could have sworn I recognized him when we played a friendly in hattiesburg early on when Louisiana was still shut down.

That team played beautiful soccer. WE played both in Jackson and I thought Rush would work them just based on size. But Hattiesburg just played better soccer and had a better keeper who made the difference.

I just can't see that being a good idea. Let your kid play on age or a year up with GCU and enjoy the game. You don't want him playing with a bunch of college age kids. Seems like you are always chasing the "next big thing", whether it be with football or soccer. Your kids a nice player, but c'mon. You're talking about playing 4 years up. That can't be good for a kids development and I can't imagine this team would do that as anything more than a money grab.

By the way, that Hattiesburg team was fun to watch. I watched them take out the 05 Rush team in their tournament. It was a hell of a game.

Are you trying to move your kid to yet another new team? What happened with the hattiesburg team?
