My thoughts...

O-line needs some work. Could just need more game reps and improved calls at the line.

Jalen...TBD. Looked better at times...looked the same at times.

Daboll...Still wondering how he will turn out as a play caller. Was not impressed with the red zone calls.

Running game never really got established.

Super tough opponent, so it is hard to say 100% on any of them.

re: Are we in a bad QB situation

I don't think we are in a bad QB situation.

Once Hurts won the job, it is obvious that any and all upperclassmen QB's were going to transfer.

Hurts is/was a true freshman and he passed like a true freshman. He telegraphed a lot of throws. He misses some read. His accuracy was inconsistent on short/medium passes and non-existent on long passes. All of these things can and will be improved with time, coaching, and reps.

The good news is...the rest of his game was very un-freshman like. He was calm, showed poise, had the respect and attention of his teammates. All wonderful things. Oh, and he runs the ball like a running back.

I would like to see Tua red-shirt a year...have 1-2 years to back up hurts, and then be the man.

We'll obviously need to add some additional depth, but I think the future at QB is as bright as it has ever been for Bama.

There were just as many WR drops as overthrown passes.

I agree that we shouldn't have game planned to drop passes and miss open receivers.

Yes, there were some questionable calls and yes, the offensive game plan was somewhat conservative. But we had scored and had the lead late in game.

I am proud of this team. I am not blaming the refs or the coaches or the players.

We got beat. We got beat by a really good team with really good players. We out-athlete about 80% of the teams we see. With the other 20%, we are usually just better prepared and execute better. Sometimes, the other team plays well too and we lose. With the run that we are on, and that I expect to continue...I can deal with this. The sun is up this morning.

I am very appreciative of Kiffin and the results on the field for the last 3 years...but it was definitely time for him to move on.

That had potential to be a lot funnier than it turned out to be.
I thought it was pretty funny. I could use one of those round bananas....
That snub was the greatest thing to happen to Alabama in the modern era

It's almost not worth recruiting elite guys there for fear of having major depth issues.

They all competed...didn't win the job, and realize they are not likely to see more than mop up duty for their careers at Bama. Pretty easy decision for an elite QB.

I wish them all well and success. QB's in the next class will have the opportunity to see the field...especially if you consider a redshirt year.

It's really tough at the moment, but it is refreshing to see a time at Bama where elite QBs are not on the field because they didn't beat out another elite QB.

I think it is highly likely. He has had 3 months to show his stuff and to demonstrate some off-field stability. He knows the players, the terminology, etc...
I understand it. They want to play and baring injury, it is not likely to happen at Bama.

It sucks...I hate it...but I understand it.

David Cornwell transferring

Very concerning news. So we have 1 scholarship QB on the roster now...who else is there that has ever taken a snap?
2011 LSU likely wins the Natty if they play any other team in the country other than Alabama.
I think, much like A&M, Clemson would be a good fit in the SEC. However, I doubt it ever happens. A&M brought Texas into the footprint and that was a big deal. S. Carolina is already represented and I think they would push back pretty hard on Clemson being admitted.

NC State or Va Tech are more likely even though they are less of a SEC fit. Precedent is already set to allow teams in that don't fit...see Missouri as exhibit A. That decision still puzzles me.

They think they are a big fish in the pond now...in reality, they are and always will be stepping stone job. They should embrace it and attract top coaches who are on their way up...

The two teams they've played who had a pulse destroyed them.

Not so sure that Auburn has that much of a pulse...

OU is a good team. Their offense is pretty legit. They can run and pass with pretty good effectiveness.

The Auburn D should be able to match up pretty well, but the key will be if Gus and company can commit to an offensive game plan. Auburn will need a healthy Pettway and avoid turnovers.

Gus on the sidelines is easily worth 7-10 points in favor of OU.
Week 1 of 2017 is looking very promising...

The rest of the year...still very promising.

I think Hurts needs as many reps as he can get right now...
