I mean good god can the staff get a season to prove something first? Most 2027 guys were locked in or at least had their top few schools before this staff arrived. Relax.

quote:I feel the opposite. It's an underrated game BECAUSE it didn't end up meaning much. The same thing will be able to be said about Clemson 2025. These games were highly intense because of the perceived stakes at hand. Whether the teams involved went on to do anything has nothing to do with the fact that they were both awesome environments and games that went down to the wire.
Hard to say it is underrated given it ultimately didn't mean much for the rest of the season.

The win over Auburn 2008. Down 14-3 at half, and needed a great 2nd half from Jarrett Lee, who delivered with a touchdown to LaFell with only a minute left to win it.

They are fatigued with the Dabo experience at the moment. While I could see Dabo turning that ship around back into a respectable program, I can forgive their fans for not being jacked up 2 months out. They are trending in the wrong direction, and they certainly feel that.

It wasn't just coming out flat under BK - we came out on fire against A&M 2024 and FSU 2023 and then shite our pants in the 2nd half. It's why BK's message toward the end was always to play a "complete game" - we always had a dead spot in the big games under BK. Loss of focus, unprepared, poor playcalling, bad personnel, you name it. There was always an easy thing to point to as to why we weren't playing to the level we expect. The difference under Lane, I'm hoping, will be that we will have many more games where we look like the team we expect to be from start to finish. If you lose games that way, you tip your cap. Every loss under BK left us saying "what the frick was that?"

You could probably throw in 6-4 / 225 / Top 100 Trenton Henderson into this thread. We are gonna be loaded for a good while up front.

I feel bad because you clearly thought you had a fun, light-hearted idea, but this is such a horrible suggestion that you will surely get torn to shreds.

We did a good job against Sellers, Klubnik, and Mateer this past year. I think the issue in the games you mentioned was just that our personnel wasn't good enough and we got straight up pushed around in those games against A&M and Bama 2024 and A&M 2025.

I mean it was definitely tough to feel good when Beanie Wells took it 75 yards, but I had watched enough of that team to know that we would at the very least make it a close game. That offense was just so good in the big moments.
re: “I don't think anyone has an easier SEC schedule than LSU this year.”

1. There are no easy schedules in the SEC. Even if our schedule is slightly easier than the average SEC schedule, we still have 5-6 SEC games that will be very tough. He mentioned @Auburn as if that's a chalk it up win. I don't think Bud has a good pulse on the SEC if that's what he thinks.
2. Bama, Texas, & @Tennessee as the first 3 games of November is a brutal stretch, and @Ole Miss & Texas A&M to close September could be costly too. October is generally easy as far as SEC schedules could go, but there could easily be 2 losses in September and another 2-3 in November if we're not as elite as we're thinking.

quote:"aside from two titles" is a retarded line to begin with, but if you take those titles out, he still has:
aside from the two titles he has he really isn’t that great of a coach
- 7 playoff appearances (6 consecutive)
- 9 ACC Championships
- 3 Coach of the Year Awards
I'm by no means a fan of Dabo, and the Clemson of late has not been very good, but it's very stupid to dismiss his entire career.

Lots of RPO's.
Totally opposite of BK & Sloan's stale offense.

It's a silly conversation. We all know it's wrong, and we all know that every single P4 school would have done this same exact thing. They have a $5M QB and they want to see him play. It's wrong, but until there's a governing body to put a stop to this BS it will continue happening.
Also, it's nuts to say that everyone would give LSU and Lane Kiffin a pass for anything. We are one of the most nationally polarizing brands right now.

Sam Leavitt Film Review

Max Browne has one of the better film channels on Youtube. Played for Kiffin at USC. Had plenty of good things to say about Leavitt and the LSU offense as a whole in this video.

Terrace should be higher in my opinion. He had a 7 game stretch that probably beats any other LSU WR's best 7 game stretch. From the 2019 SEC Championship through the 2020 South Carolina game:
41 receptions
727 yards (18 yards/catch)
14 TDs
Kayshon's late 2020 into the first half of 2021 was also elite. He was a top 3 WR in the country for that stretch before tearing his ACL.

Watch some Leavitt highlights. His top speed when he gets moving is not far off from the LBs and DBs trying to chase him down. This number sounds right to me.
re: My take on the 24 team playoffs.
Posted by iamandykeim on 5/26/26 at 3:07 pm to Bayou_Bengal44
The sport was better when it was less accessible. The leaders of the sport are working hard to make everything very easy to access and understand for the casual fan. On its face, the 24 team playoff is fantastic. More postseason competition, lots of entertaining matchups, and a champion crowned directly on the field. What the casual fan does not / cannot comprehend is what is being lost:
Less meaningful regular season.
With 24 teams making the tournament, the elite teams are virtually guaranteed a spot. Yes, the regular season games can still be entertaining and the players will still play hard and want to win. But, the key difference there is that while they want to win, they won't actually have to win to avoid being at risk of reaching the playoff. The absolute desperation of the regular season is gone.
Genuinely meaningless bowl games.
This will fall on deaf ears for casual fans, but bowl games used to be a lot of fun and competitive. Reaching the Sugar Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, or even the damn Capital One Bowl was a really fun way to cap off a solid year. It was a moment to say "this season we came up a bit short, but this is our last chance to get to see a lot of these guys play, and we still had a damn good year."
Winning those games would actually create a lot of momentum going into the offseason and following year - look at how the 2006 Sugar Bowl, the 2010 Cotton Bowl, and the 2018 Peach Bowl carried to the next year. Whooped arse in a big bowl game on big stages, and it resulted in 3 teams that came into the next season with a lot of swagger and belief in themselves. Instead, 23 of the top 24 teams in college football will end the season with a loss. Think about Vanderbilt this past year - they had an amazing season by Vandy standards, but because of this culture that's been created that it's playoffs or bust, they ended the season in disappointment rather than going to something like the Orange Bowl and potentially capping things off with a statement win.
Watered down games.
Yes, the 24 team playoff would create exciting matchups and inevitably some all time classic finishes, but at some point, I'll just feel numb to the big moments because there will simply be too many big moments. I don't even care that 17 seeded Iowa went on the road and upset 16 seeded Utah because there's just too much to follow.
