I just went through a weird car purchase - still not sure how I feel about it. Wife and I didn't have a car payment for 5 years but my old 4Runner was up over 200,000 miles so I figured it was time. I got a $70,000 bonus at work (no joke and very unexpected, long story) so felt good about it even though I enjoyed no car payment.

$10K down payment and 2.0% financing for a 2021 Gladiator. I have a side hustle though that brings in $600+ a month which covers the monthly payment. I had stopped the hustle because it was boring but having a new car gave me motivation to pick it back up. So as long as I continue the hustle I will have no payments out of pocket on the car. If I get bored with it again I will just pay it off with the bonus.

Lived in Alabama for 20+ years and rarely ever saw it. Have lived in Colorado for the last 8 years at this point. For the first 2-3 years it was pretty awesome to get 10+ inches of snow a few times a year and get to experience it. After that, it can be a pretty big pain to deal with. Driving in it becomes old fast and the complete lack of any other moisture makes everyone's yard so difficult to maintain. Where I live in Colorado we got 3 inches of snow yesterday in early May. Three years ago we got 8 inches of snow on May 22nd. THAT is not fun - sometimes it feels like it never stops.
Bran's main purpose is to give us more information about the Night King and to confirm Jon's identity through his visions.

In the books, this has a lot more impact over time and is gradual (giving us clues as we read that are revisited with more clarity). In the show, it's sort of blah and lame for that to be his purpose.
Just over 40,000 is my highest in one day. My day looked like this:

2 mile walk with dog
8 mile run
rest
2 mile walk with wife and dog
threw the frisbee with wife with dog chasing for an hour
rest
2 mile walk with wife

This put me around 30,000. Then I got a phone call from a good friend of mine and we talked about a future job opportunity and I brainlessly walked around my living room while I was on the phone. We talked for just over an hour and I had walked close to 8,000 steps. When I realized I was at 38,000 I forced myself to walk 2,000 more outside just to do it. No joke, the next day I walked 6,000 which meant I sat on my butt almost all day long. I consistently get 15,000 on a normal day. More around 20,000 to 25,000 on weekends
I live in Littleton and teach at a school roughly 25 minutes away. I had to scout an opponent of Columbine earlier this basketball season and it was a very odd experience walking through the school to the gym.

I have read almost everything about the shootings and a bunch of people in this thread have nailed it. There isn't one single thing that lead to the shootings, but, I would tend to say that this was just a perfect storm of two kids who had an inner struggle to kill and it filtered out over a year or more into real action. I would also say that they self justified their actions into their journals to give themselves more courage and motivation to carry out their plan. Meaning, sure they were likely bullied to a degree by "white hats" or jocks at the school, but they became hypersensitive to every negative interaction they had and fueled that to justify a feeling that they already had. If you read their journals and watch some of the home tapes, they were just as guilty of treating others poorly as they claim caused their hatred of others. It was definitely NOT a case of they had had enough and took action because of how they were treated.

thought the same thing when I moved to Denver. Didn't think I would ever go anywhere else. Then my wife and I found Landmark in Greenwood Village. Same atmosphere except for $12 a ticket you get all you can eat self serve drinks and popcorn. At no point do you even have to deal with an employee. Food is free and tickets are purchased on a touch screen kiosk.

The catch is that they don't play all mainstream movies and only have about 6 theaters. Keeps kids away and the place nice. But it's legit

My wife and I moved to the Denver area this past year and love it (although we are experiencing a blizzard at the moment). I would suggest raising kids south of Denver in areas like Littleton, Highlands Ranch, or Parker. The cost of living is pretty high but you're a quick 20 minute light rail ride or drive to downtown. Really nice places like Cherry Creek and Greenwood Village are where a lot of Broncos players live.
I just moved out to Colorado this past July after living in Birmingham most of my life. I am in my mid 20's and just got married so our move was more about starting our life together in a new place....but man this is a great place to live. I live south of Denver and the cost of living is insane, but Colorado Springs is way more affordable. We thought about living there for a while but the better opportunity job wise was in the Denver area.

Ultimately money is a deciding factor and having stuff to do is great, but you really make big decisions like this because you're excited about the change and the new opportunity. I make close to the same here as I did in Alabama (and the cost of living is about double) but it was a great decision for us. Colorado Springs is very, very nice. If you are even questioning your current job and you and your family feel the least bit excited about a new place, then do it. I tell everyone back where I'm from that you could never regret moving to Colorado.

P.S. it does, in fact, smell like weed in a bunch of different places. But you get used to it.
