Think about our new coordinators.. Coach O has said since the day after the Joes and Bros era (Joe Burrow & Joe Brady) that he wanted to run the Joe Brady offense he said it last year ( he said it was going to be a mix) now this year..? I know players change and execution of the plays are going to be different but these aren’t the same rout concepts, plays, schemes, fluidness that I saw from the offense in 2019. Defense a little different, Coach Jones I believe is a brilliant football mind. Think back at his intro press conference, he said he wanted to use a multi defensive scheme. I truly believe that because Aranda was a mastermind and he had to dumb himself down to fit in with Coach O. O wants a 4 front line why? Not because it’s the most effective, it’s because that’s what he hangs his hat on D-line. If you take that away (switching to a 3-4, would take those DEs out the dirt and would have to train them as a hybrid LB) he loses any sense of purpose on the team. I know top billin had Arik Gilbert moving to the other side of the football ie, Marcus Spears. He had the right idea but wrong player my guess is that
Kole Taylor will be the one moving to the defense side of the ball. Arik has made it clear that he wants to play offense while Kole played both sides of the ball in high and is listed at 6'7 putting on muscle mass won't be an issue I'll be surprise if in a year he's not the SEC best line man.... disagree..
