I usually steer clear of anything pvp related, but this game looked too good to pass up... and it sure as hell is.

Game has been taking over all my free time since it launched, anyone on here feel free to add me Angumar#4057 - always good to have more folks to join up with

Just getting on page 1 of this one - MAGA :usa:
IN... because shite just keeps getting crazier so why not :usa:
finished up the campaign earlier this evening, admittedly I'm a big 40k fan, but it thought it was great - some spectacular visuals and scenes, big epic fights etc - looking forward to doing some coop campaigns with friends and well as the operations.

It’s slow at first but it’s a great game. One of my all time favorites.

Its a fantastic party/turn based rpg, but as several other folks have said, you have to be into that kind of game. Had some friends that bounced off of Baldurs Gate 3 recently for the same reason, you have to be into the stories and enjoy all the reading and party mgmt to really get into these games... but if you are into it - they are some of the best examples of the genre out there.
I have enjoyed checking out many of the TD NSFW posts over the years (kudos to Darth and other regular contributors of such) - I have never once followed an instagram or emailed examples of these posts to other people based on these threads... until now - 10/10

~50 hours into my first run, still in act 1 (lvl 6) - game is absolutely fantastic, has completely taken over every minute of my free time.

will definitely be doing at least one additional 'evil' run for sure

Ahh the good old "everyone else is crazy and I'm the only intelligent / sane one here"

The incredible amount of hubris it would take to actually write something like that in public and mean it would be shocking... except it came from you so its par for the course.

anything with Giamatti in it is at least worth a glance, trailer looks good - thanks for the link

I think we still have over 100 jobs available.

Roger, you talking about jobs in Alaska? If so, doing what? Took a trip last year to Alaska and would love to find some work out there - such beautiful scenery over there. I somehow doubt you are looking for IT nerdwork, but if you are I may need to send an email

I love this game. I was like let's just see where this passage goes. 2 hours later I'm on the top of hyrule castle

same exact feeling, hah started this morning wanting to do some exploring and I just ended up beating the game (before I had finished all the main story quests, but I had done the 4 temples) once I got into the zone and realized what was going on, just couldn't stop playing - such a fantastic game - looking forward to going back and finishing some quest lines I missed.
just fyi if you don't already know, but you can buy a pack of the nfc chips for really cheap (like $10 or $15 bucks) and use a free program to make any amiibo.

Tagmo is the free app, and just look for NFC 215 round cards on amazon and you can find them for very cheap.

Lots of unique items you can only get from the amiibos
I had kickstarted the Sanderson secret project books and then promptly forgot about them - thanks for the reminder on this one Book Board, read it yesterday and enjoyed it quite a bit.

re: 2023 Spring Garden Thread

Its been an interesting spring for sure between the freeze and just weird weather, but finally have some tomatoes coming in - crazy how resilient those plants are. Have some various peppers and beans to come shortly as well.

These are some tests we've done in smaller grow bags and trellised bottom watering boxes - these have all had major injuries (big branches snapping off due to wind from storms, etc) but they've recovered nicely I'd say.

looking forward to these black cherries the most, they are the best tasting ones I've had
enjoying them very much so far, about 52 turns in on an Astragoth RoC campaign (VH/N) - really don't feel that they are OP, definitely have strong units and mechanics but its balanced by the amount of tweaking you need to do to keep economy running efficiently (labor vs raw materials and armaments output etc).

Looking forward to doing some bigger IE runs with Drazoath, not very impressed with Zhatan (just seems like a suped up Overseer)

but yes, enjoying them very much as well as some of the other quality of life stuff they added in patch 3.0
historical = horus heresy novels, they start off with the story of the primarchs, the original space marine legions and the huge civil war that led to the events that are happening in the main 40k novels.

The Eisenhorn and Ravenor series also have a ton of detail on imperial politics as well as just being fantastic books in general.

If you don't want to get bogged down with 55+ books in the Horus Heresy, I really don't think you can go wrong with Eisenhorn.

Also if you see any of these names as authors, you have a pretty damn good shot that the book is a good one:

Dan Abnett, Graham McNeill, and Aaron Dembski-Bowden

tons of great places to start, some suggestions:

Eisenhorn series - spectacular, focuses on inquisitor and his retinue, get a good sampling of his interactions with various races

Gaunt's Ghosts - more standard military sci fi, focusing on a commissar and his unit

Ciaphas Cain - a more action adventure along with some comedy (which is slightly rare in 40k) again focusing on a commissar

Any of the space marine battles / anthologies can be good depending on which faction(s) you like.

Are you more interested in 'good' factions, evil factions? regular humans and their struggles or space marines / aliens etc?

Its a fantastic universe with tons of variety

If you want to go hardcore and get a good idea of the basis of the current events, you can start the horus heresy novels, which are currently running about 60 deep I think, they focus around the huge imperial civil war that took place 10,000 years before the 'current' timeline so ~30k

Anyone else seeing tons of Leaf Miners this year? I had a small issue with them last year, but this year is nuts. Some of my tomatoes seem to have damn near every leaf affected.

I initially was cutting off and disposing of leaves that had trails but if I would have kept that up I would have had to remove probably 75% or more of the leaves on some of them...

We put out some ladybugs yesterday and have some parasitic wasps coming next week - wondering if anyone else is seeing a marked increase in the various leaf miners this year? Specifically on tomatoes and peppers
