I'm looking forward to Da Tigahs setting things right against UCF. I think Coach O can get these guys motivated enough to play; something Gus Bus couldn't do last year (well, to be somewhat fair, there was also an injury to the Barn's best running back - meaning their entire offense).

Make us proud Tigers! You got this!

Geaux Tigahs!
Hahahaha... You win the interweb!

Hope is not a strategy!
Cotton Bowl: Bama vs UCF (it would take a few teams to lose unexpected games this weekend but, hey, it's my "ideal" matchups, so....

Orange Bowl: Clemson vs Notre Dame

Fiesta: Georgia vs Michigan

Sugar: LSU Vs Oklahoma (great offense vs great defense - defense wins)

I would just love to see the "two" National Champs play each other and asking UCF to put up or shut up.
Absolutely terrific analysis here. The only thing I would change or maybe add... would be analyzing the same data but for home games (since A&M will be at home). The 12th man is a powerful factor and could be a deciding factor in a very close game. I understand that part of the formulas take into consideration homefield advantage and the Las Vegas Betting line (which most likely also takes into consideration of home field advantage)… but I guess I'd like to see the data matchup instead of taking the betting line's opinion.

But again, terrific job and best of luck to both teams on Saturday. But I have to say Geaux Tigers!
Interesting tag line...

You must be cruising.
I grew up in Bama, lived in Bama, went to school at Bama, but now I live in BR and my son goes to LSU (I pay the tuition). So... I support both teams (I guess with everyone's permission I have that right)... Bama first though!!!

College football has grown larger than life. You have people who are fans of Notre Dame or USC or whomever. I know they aren't die hard fans who might beat someone to death for wearing a Bama hat, but to tell you the truth sometimes those fans are worse than the bandwagon fans, right?

Support your team, or whomever you want to support, but why does it bother you if someone jumps on your bandwagon. There are a lot of things to like about the Bama team. you may not see that because you hate Bama so much, but there are some really good points. One of son's high school coaches used to relay motivational things stated by Saban and use his methods to coach the kids and use examples of success from Bama. Is he a bandwagon coach as well? Or, is he just using a successful team as a model... My understanding is that Coach O is using the Bama model of success.

Maybe Coach O isn't a fanatic but he certainly understands what success looks like and will try to implement that success in BR. I wish him all the success he can stand.

So fandome isn't a club that you have to have some affiliation. Just enjoy life brothers and let go of the negativity. LSU is a terrific team and their fans are FANATIC for sure. Do that!

RTR and Geaux Tigahs!
Damn Bro! I'm from Bama and I'm a big Bama fan (living in BR) but I think I have more Tiger Pride than you! I mean seriously, DAMN!

GEAUX TIGERS!
How about a 6 team playoff with the top two teams getting a first round bye?

Yeah, good luck with that wish list but I don't think O will ever get rid of Ensminger. They are tied at the hip. Although I do believe Ensminger is over his head. You really need to find a top notch QB coach to develop QBs and work with OC.
Well, it's not like LSU is going to listen to me. I've had to defend myself many times about submitting messages on an LSU message board, but while I'm a Bama graduate my son goes to LSU (he went to the dark side). So, I root for LSU against everyone except Bama. I have many LSU friends and neighbors and have lived in BR area for 15 years. I support you guys at every opportunity.

Just because I'm a Bama fan doesn't mean I have to hate LSU... and I don't.

re: Passing offense: 2014-2018

My opinion... LSU needs to hire a top notch QB coach to develop these guys. And, you need an OC who knows how and when to throw the ball. Bama has never had a great offense until they hired a QB coach, added a talented QB and went to a pass first, run second offensive scheme. I mean, the run and pass game compliment each other but at LSU it looks like they really don't want to pass and are tentative in calling the pass plays. Turn the QB lose and he will get better. OC can't be afraid to make mistakes.
I respectfully disagree. Arkansas doesn't have the best run defense and that is right down LSU's sweet spot! LSU will run for greater than 250 yards. Your defense is better than Bama's (DB-U) so I don't see Arkansas scoring a bunch (they are a passing offense). You may only need 10 points to win this one. But I suspect it will be more like 27 to 24... Tigers.
Well, maybe an over reaction. You guys will still finish 10-2 (probably). Although in my personal opinion you could trust your QB more and turn him lose. He really is pretty accurate but apparently the OC believes you can't have more than one pass in a series. Bama is susceptible to a good accurate QB. running wasn't an option so you needed to pass more to make running possible. The other issue was going too quick. Those 3 and outs worked heavily against your defense... you can live and die by going too fast. Yes, going fast could get defenses out of position but if it doesn't work you go 3 and out really super fast and you put your defense back out on the field (LSU defense was tired in second half). It was a gamble that didn't work in the Bama scenario.

All that being said... LSU is still a really good team. The players and coaches will get better and more experienced. Give them time and I think you will like the progress. I think they learned from this game and that experience will help going forward. You have to play better teams to help you fix issues.

Good luck Tigers on the remaining season.

Super glad you had a great experience in BR. I moved here about 12 years ago from Mobile. I've been to many LSU games wearing my Crimson Red and have always had a great experience. Took my son to his first LSU game when he was 10 and he was hooked! He's now a Freshman at LSU (I lost him to the dark side - hahaha). I have some of the best friends in and around BR (most are LSU fans). We all have a great time together.

I encourage everyone to come to Death Valley for at least one game!

RTR and Geaux Tigahs!
I don't know... kids are fickle and Coach O is meme generator. Nice fella and a decent coach, but not an elite coach and he gets made fun of alot. If you met Coach O and then met Coach Saban I think Saban beats that battle off the field.

Additionally, Tua made an interesting comment on an ESPN interview yesterday... he said that his Dad "made the decision for him to go to Bama and that it was a cultural thing." So, apparently his father may make that decision on where the boys will play because its cultural for polynesian fathers to be a primary decision maker for their kids. Would you want your son to get beat up at LSU or protected at Bama? Both brothers have careers in the NFL.
Ummm... that was practice. Bama used Arkansas as a practice squad.

1st Q Bama scored 21.
2nd Q Bama scored 20.

So, at half time it was 41-14... already a blow out.

Hurts played majority of 3rd Q and Jones played the 4th Q.

Arkansas scored 2 touchdowns in the 4th Q during garbage time.

The game was never in doubt. The final score was 65-31.

A UCF fan trolling Bama fans on an LSU message board... Interdasting.
Love taps! Those weren't hay makers. Hahaha. The player was punished by missing the first half of the next game. And, in my opinion he should have been flagged and removed from the game... the score was 39-10 at this point and 11 minutes left in 4th quarter (from the video) and he would not have been missed and it would not have made any difference in that game. Having him miss the first half of the next game could have more effect on the team than kicking him out of the current game which was already blown out.

All this collusion talk is just making excuses. The Devin White call was wrong and should not have been made. If Devon White had played the entire game he would not have made a significant, if any, difference to the 29-0 score. Everyone needs to get past this collusion crap!
Perhaps LSU was over excited and over emotional? I've seen teams play the best teams and exhaust themselves in the first half over emotions. Being even keeled balances out the game long term. I heard someone on WAFB state that they thought Coach O was going to personally pick up the stadium and throw it into the river. I think they were exhausted by the time the game began. By the time Devin White made it into the game everyone else was exhausted (mentally and physically).

Best of luck for the rest of the season Tigers! I doubt you lose again and you should get a really good bowl game. Geaux Kick some arse.
