It's a wasp beetle, their coloration mimics a wasp to keep predators away, Ron Cheramie steered me in right direction. It definitely has wings, they fly away. I would have been stung by now if they were wasps.

I have been chopping pecan all week and these showed up a couple days ago. The hind legs are throwing me off because I don't see any images on line with legs that extend that far back. They have hit me a few times, but I haven't been stung yet

I just finished painting a 25 year old boat trailer that was showing a ton of surface rust. I sanded everything and cleaned well wuth Acetone. I then applied a coat of Eastwood rust inhibitor, then a marine paint. Not sure how well it will hold up long-term.

Whenever I am really thirsty and drink water, I think of those Marines and their lack of water. And how much they would have appreciated just an ounce or two of clean, cold water.
