re: Any guesses on the opening line for Auburn @ LSU?
Posted by Hoggiestyle on 10/15/11 at 10:47 pm
Last week it was LSU -18.5 on sportsbook.com. It will be somewhere between 17 and 19.
MSU -6.5 at Auburn; USC -3 vs GA

I could see MSU beating Auburn badly and not taking their foot of the gas.
I know Auburn is young, but they looked small and weak. I was expecting to see some really good looking players with those recruiting classes. Based on what I saw Saturday they will be embarrassed this week.

Your offensive philosophy contributes to the points allowed by your defense. During the same time period Auburn's offense has probably set records for points scored, with lower time-of-possession. It is not a coincidence. As long as you run the tempo offense you will give up more points.

Me thinks I might win the league with this pick. Only question is will he supplant Ware as starter? He looked better last night.

Arkansas went from a SEC/National contender to a 3-4 loss team with Davis out. Sorry Hawg fans but DJ and Wingo are not in the same class as Davis. He was our best player and was the primary reason we made that run late last year. I would trade ANY 3 players on our team if we could keep Davis. Think GA, Bama, Texas AM, games last year when Knile wasn't the workhorse. NO Running Game. This year we get the added bonus on 3 new OL. Disaster!
If SC lost Lattimore it would be close to blow we will face from this!

Not surprising when they ran 100 plays. Usually the players with the most tackles are on the worst defenses because they have more opportunities. Sacks and TFL are the individual d stats that matter.

Non of the major vegas casinos have a line out yet. I have been saying I expect bama -3 when they do.
Sportsbook.com has a NCAA futures link where they post lines of some of the big games throughout the year. The games they select are posted before the season and updated every Monday. Currently Bama/AU is not listed b/c Bama played yesterday and the line will be updated Monday.

What a joke, Bama is terrible this year. The only thing I'm worried about is that long winning streak at home.
Anytime someone makes a comment like this about betting lines the joke is usually on them.
Bama -6 vs Auburn

The line was Bama -11.5 before the season and has come down all year.
Fans don't get that Auburn has played every difficult game at home this season. They beat MSU and KY by a combined 6 pts on the road.

re: Arkansas -5 vs LSU next week

Arkansas is a different team ever since we started featuring Knile Davis at RB (about 4 games ago). He is averaging 7.2 yards/carry and has allowed us to convert 3rd downs. If Petrino wasn't so stubborn playing B. Green early in the year we would have beaten Bama going away. K Davis had 50 yards on 7 carries...should have had 20-25 carries.

If you are so confident you should lock into -5 today? You don't have to take the line at kickoff

You can get this line right now on sportsbook.com under NCAA games of the year. The line was Arkansas -5.5 before the season started. I'm a little surprised we are only -3 vs MSU this week.
Has Chizik ever called Newton an "Auburn man"?

Just curious aubbies....
Nick Fairly is the dirtiest football player I have ever seen
Posted by Hoggiestyle on 11/13/10 at 11:35 pm
I have watched most of Auburn's games this year and he has about 3 dirty plays a game. The word is out on this guy (did you hear Danielson say the GA coaches warned the refs about his dirty play?) He will get his!

I agree with you here...in fact I told a friend this today. Masoli would be able to overcome your pass blocking deficiencies and make plays with his legs, avoiding sacks.

Florida had over 500 yards of offense against OM that day. Florida turnovers were the only reason you won.

Any chance Ware or Blue could become the feature back this year?
Posted by Hoggiestyle on 8/30/10 at 9:53 pm
I drafted Ware and Blue in the last 2 rounds of my SEC fantasy draft (over backup WRs, etc). Any chance one could emerge later in the year? Having played in this league for many years I have noticed Miles doesn't usually play younger guys at RB. Thoughts?
re: I'm starting to think Ole Miss could be the darkhorse
Posted by Hoggiestyle on 8/18/10 at 11:56 pm
I think the Auburn game is a toss-up. Auburn is a streaky team (offense) so if they do beat Arkansas and LSU (who they play in consecutive weeks before Ole Miss)I think they will win. However, I think they lose both games at home and then have to travel to Oxford. The wheels could come off.
On another note, I bet Nutt would rather beat Auburn this year than Arkansas (Malzahn)

Oh no, I hate Ole Miss and don't care for Nutt but I can still be objective. It is all about the schedule. It is very rare to get that good of a draw in the east. Name one time since '92 when a west team played the worst 3 teams in the east in the same year. There is a pretty big difference this year b/w FL, GA, USC and Vandy, Ky, Tn.
