re: Hot Springs, Arkansas Courses

Posted by rickthet on 7/10/24 at 2:20 pm
I played one of the courses at HSV (funny story - we were there when Alton Stirling met the BRPD at Triple S, and I had a drawstring bag from BRPD recruiting with balls and tees in it). I think any course in that complex will probably be a good choice.
However, there is a state park a little south of Hot Springs with a golf course.. DeGray Lake resort golf course; that's one of the nicest I've ever played and I would highly recommend it
There was a thread a while back about Livingston parish going to war against Ascension parish. Scrolling through that was comedy gold.. including residents of neighboring parishes who wanted to join a side.

I have same issue with and Acura MDX. I have gone to K&M and have been pleased..I would recommend them. However, I called and they don't do this work since it involves removing transmission.

Not mad; but I was puzzled by it. It was a good play; I would think it would be saved until it could be used to make a difference. Running it when you're up 4 TD's in the second half of a game you've pretty much dominated didn't seem like the most opportune time.

Also, have no issue with Jalen Carter holding our QB up on his sack...hated it happened to my Tigers, but thought it was pretty cool
Yeah, at a press conf yesterday, the DA suggested we spend more on sports than combatting gun violence; then negotiates plea for this criminal for 12 years
For LSU, I'm thinkin the "sissy blue shirt" angle..
Powder, powder, white
I may need a Tennessee fan to confirm this, but the way I remember it - Fulmer was an assistant on Johnny Majors staff when Majors had to take a medical leave. Fulmer worked the admin to retain the head coaching position when Majors was ready to return. I never cared for Fulmer after that move...

1) Blue Bell Fudge Brownie Nut ice cream
2) Monte Christo at Bennigan's ( does anyone know if any other restaurant makes a Monte Christo ?)
3) Apple Cinnamon Oh's cereal...they still make the Honey flavored Oh's, but the Apple Cinnamon were awesome
Can you provide and e-mail ? I'll send you pics of what I have...

No one has mentioned The Chimes...even though getting in would be more than difficult, still needs mentioning.
Also, Gino's .. in fact that's where I went when I graduated.

Louisiana Lagniappe possibly ??

re: Mike the Tiger Mascot

Mike leads the band down the hill. The band does group warmup around the Greek theatre, before they form up and march to the stadium. I recommend bringing your grandkids there to hear the band, and I'm pretty sure Mike will be in the area interacting with fans. As for timing, think 15-30 minutes before the team marches down Victory Hill. Also, the team buses drive right by there before they unload, so you'll get to see that as well :geauxtigers:
TGBFTL will be making the trip. The whole band usually travels to one road game, and the bowl trip which is part of their end of the year awards banquet. I'm sure some of the band if not the whole band will attend FanFest. When they went to bowl games in Orlando, they also marched in the bowl parade. If the Fiesta Bowl has a parade, I'm sure TGBFTL will march in it as well.

Enjoy !!

re: what tickets would you choose ?

I sat under the over hang once, and it SUCKED !!
Can't see any of the video boards or score board.
I think LSU sells tickets in upper 300 section for $6.00 each, unless you can pick some up cheaper (or free) elsewhere. If you buy upper sec tickets, there will probably be numerous seats in lower sections to which you could move.
My son is in the band; they've started a new thing similar to pregame in football, where they form on the floor and play "pregame" and turn to each section similar to the four corner salute. I reccomend getting there before game starts to see it.

re: Are we bringing the full band?

Posted by rickthet on 7/13/16 at 8:17 am
My son is in the band...I believe they're bringing about 110 members.
In previous years, the full band took one road trip per year plus the bowl game, but apparently that precedent has changed, and they will no longer bring the full band on a road game.
A few years ago, TGBFT traveled to Ireland to march in a St Patrick's Day parade. There was a trip scheduled for them to go to China in the next couple of years, however, it appears that's not going to happen.
Our football team/program had reached a level of excellence, but seems to be retreating to the category of mediocre. It seems the powers that be are unwilling to spend/invest to make our program as good as it can be. I think the goings on with regard to the Tiger Band are an indication that LSU has gone back to the ways of being cheap.
I hope I'm wrong, but that's how it looks to me....

I think we could get RichRod from AZ; and he could hire Muschamp as his DC...watcha think ?

re: LSU @ Auburn Game time

I think CBS's general rule is to show the highest rank team, which as it stands now is Bama. With that in mind, I'd bet LSU/Auburn on ESPN at 6:00 or 6:30.
The GBFT facebook site has a shot from west upper deck(or it could be the press box), but it's not fisheye. It's one of the best I've seen so far of the stadium with the new addition.
