Uh, Blevins is not a source I'd put a lot of faith in. When Spurrier went to the Skins, Blevins reported that Bob Stoops was going to be the next HC for Florida. Never came close to happening. I certainly don't believe these figures either.

10 million a year for 10 years has been rumored for at least a week. Dean Blevins didn't break that.
Betting on who will be the next coach at Alabama would be more entertaining.

He gone.

Some Oregon uniforms that I have absolutely loved

2003 LSU. I think USC was the best team in the country.

Feel free to kill me for that statement, I stand by it.

eta - misread as BCSNCG.

Any championship claimed that isnt UPI (coaches poll) or AP is a bs claim. Talking to you, Alabama.
What they should have done is use the BCS to determine the top 4 teams.

worse than the BCS for the first few seasons

No. Had Ohio State beaten Michigan State, then auburn would not have gotten to play for it all in the BCS but would have in a playoff system.

Some people are making it seem like the selection committee will go out and pick teams that would have been no. 8, 12, 13, and 16 in the BCS. That is not going to happen. After 2003 the BCS allowed for the top two teams in the polls to play. This will allow for the top two teams to play as well, and also include two more deserving teams who have a claim to be amongst the best. While there will be a controversy about who those additional teams should be, at least two more teams have a shot instead of no teams at all, like it has been in the BCS.

Coaches, AP and the FBS Playoff champions

I highly doubt that with the playoff including FOUR teams, the FBS playoff would not include a team that the Coaches and AP polls have at no. 1. Likely the top three teams at least will be in the FBS playoff, and so the playoff champion should be the no.1 team in the AP/Coaches because they would have won the playoff.
Wish we had a freaking SEC - PAC 12 tie in. How do the top two conferences not have a tie in?

Watch as the PAC 12 goes 9-0 in bowl season and the PAC 12 vs. SEC argument starts again going into next year.

UGA's fanbase seems to have a real problem with Auburn's success this year.

One team was a contender coming in, and had arguably the worst luck of any team in college football with all their injuries

The other team was a doormat coming in, and undoubtedly had every break go their way (including a fluke miracle catch against that very team) and is headed to the national championship

Of course they are going to be a little salty.

the computer rankings will still exist, and I believe the selection committee will take metrics into account. The NCAA march madness selection committee does.

college football playoff/future sugar bowls between SEC and BIG XII champions.

Money. OU fans will travel better to New Orleans than Oregon. That brings in $$$$$$!

Only 10 hour drive, and the BIG XII relationship with the Sugar Bowl.

The only way to get great matchups is to have the networks finance the bowls. They would care more about TV $$ and put together great matchups because ratings would make them a lot more money than ticket sales. This would help out little schools as well that may draw big ratings in a particular year if they are good, but wont sell as many tickets as a lower ranked, bigger program.
