How about Bear Bryant and Maryland football? He certainly moved around until Momma called.
Texas is seriously hampered by all of the various factions that are constantly fighting for control. Until they have a good coach that can clean house and have total control, they won't reach all of that potential. I believe Saban basically had to do the same thing when he took over Bama.
You sir are correct. All of the "we are Texas" entiltement left them charmin soft and rotting on the inside. That's why they hired a known hatchet man to clean out the athletic department and Charlie Strong had to run off several players.
