Alabama has hired former Washington offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier for the same position, a source with knowledge of the coaching search confirmed. Nussmeier was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under head coach Steve Sarkisian at Washington since 2009. The Huskies ranked 25th nationally in scoring with 33.4 points per game, and 38th nationally in total offense in 2011. He also played five seasons at QB in the NFL, four with the New Orleans Saints and one with the Indianapolis Colts.
