Thanks for the clarifications. It's kinda weird, though. Sounds like something that would happen if there was some acrimony, which, by all accounts, there wasn't. I get the idea of making the transition smoother for the next coach, but since the odds are pretty good that the next coach will be from the college ranks, he's likely to be coaching his own team in a bowl at that point.
