SEC and Big Ten officials have been meeting in New Orleans this week to discuss potential changes to the College Football Playoff format and seeding.
One of the changes that SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti both support is straight seeding in the playoff bracket and doing away with auto byes for conference champions.
Sankey also said both conferences are getting closer to agreeing on a nine-conference game schedule.
