Former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen is reportedly targeting Zach Arnett to be his new defensive coordinator at UNLV.

Arnett was the DC at Mississippi State from 2020-2022 before becoming head coach in 2023 when Mike Leach passed away.

He spent this past season as a defensive analyst on Lane Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss. Per Football Scoop:

Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Mullen is working to finalize a deal with Zach Arnett to become defensive coordinator at UNLV.

The move comes just hours after Arnett told Dowell Loggains that he was accepting a position on Loggains's inaugural Appalachian State staff as defensive coordinator.

Instead, sources told FootballScoop, Mullen called Arnett with an lucrative offer at UNLV, one that AppState could not financially match.
