Tennessee Hires Donnie Tyndall As New Head Coach

ESPN is reporting that the Volunteers have hired Southern Miss coach Donnie Tyndall to be the next head coach at Tennessee.
It was reported on Sunday that the Vols were interested Louisiana Tech's Mike White, but hours after he turned down the job, Tennessee made things official with Tyndall.
In two season as head coach at Southern Miss, Tyndall has the lead the Golden Eagles to the NIT each year. Prior to Southern Miss, he was the head coach at Morehead State where he went to the NCAA tournament Twice.

Sources initially told ESPN about the agreement on Monday night.
The deal was for five years at $8 million overall. But they were still negotiating Monday night because Tyndall wanted six years instead of five, a source with direct knowledge on the negotiations told ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz.
