I think people have reached their tipping point on monthly streaming fees. I appreciate YouTube putting up a fight. I hate Google but yttv is a great product.
I would rather pay direct for the 5 channels I actually watch in all of it. get the rest over the air.

You do realize they have competing products right?
It would be like Honda getting pissy because they used Toyota parts and Toyota raised their prices.
Google has no leverage in this as they’re depending on a competitor’s work product.
Ok, I'm out. If you can't realize who the real.culprit is here I can't help you.
And of course Google.has no leverage here as Disney has taken it all.
Anyone blaming Google is an idiot.

YTTV is the shite head in this one imo. They’re trying to cross out all the other streamers.
Jesus Christ

I think YTTV is meh overall, only good thing about it is it was half the price of my Xfinity cable subscription.
And frick Disney too, but Fubo is cheaper than YTTV (for now). And like JD said, we'll cut it off after football season.

I downloaded Fubo for the free trial.
Pretty good interface. Similar to YTTV

Disagree. They are by far the best streamer of the bunch when it comes to interface/user friendliness.

We all agree on that.

Sorry you can get your service to pay for a competitors product for a cheaper price than they want to sell it.
Holy shite.
Holy shite.

I feel like youtubetv is the Fox News of the streaming world.
Old hapless geezers are bizarrely attached to it andd comforted by it

No, Violent Hip Swivel thinks Disney is a wonderful family-friendly company with no ties to Lucifer.

I can’t stand Disney. They’ve ruined my favorite IPs that they took over.
But my simple question that Lexis is unable to answer is why should they just charge whatever Google wants to pay despite the costs they incur to run ESPN and that they’re direct competitors in the streaming market. How much did it cost ESPN for the rights to all of these games? Should they just eat the cost so you can save $8 per month on their competitors platform?
“frick Disney” doesn’t answer that question.

It’s funny how when cord cutting became a thing, it was suppose to be such a liberating revolution for consumers. And I remember Clay Travis going on and on about how it would be the end of ESPN blah blah blah. And we’ll…here we are.
Reminds me of the NIL debate before it actually happened. There were zero concerns about unintended consequences. And here we are.
I’m glad I don’t have to hook my tv up to a cord anymore and I’m glad players aren’t getting suspended for getting paid to sign autographs….. but we are smack dab in the middle of clown world on these two fronts

Disney wants a monopoly.
That's what this comes down to. And we all know monopolies aren't good.

I think squatch's point is they are both monopolies fighting each other, and he's in a "let them fight" line of thinking.
My initial reaction was same as yours Lex. But Squatch has changed my mind.

Squatch is correct. There’s no debate here.
If YouTube vanished today, there would still be college football on screens. If espn vanished today, none of the games they broadcast would be on a screen.
YouTubeTV doesn’t produce anything. They air espn’s content
Also, I would bet Lexi dad bumps his head on things frequently on accident

I see where he's going but his ire is misdirected IMO towards YTTV/Google when the real culprit is Disney. They want a monopoly when it comes to streamers and they are using Google as a pawn. And they won't be the last. Sling and Fubo are next if Google balks.
I applaud Google for holding the line this time. They don't want to have to raise prices again and if they were to cave to Disney's demands that's exactly what would happen.
