I like McDonough’s subtle sarcasm

McDonough was the best play by play annoncer that the SEC on CBS ever had.

I refuse to be outraged that he deferred to the referee expert on the broadcast and didn't start kicking and screaming that it shouldn't have been a penalty on Georgia.

The referee expert, they just rubber stamp it. Also be interesting to know what they felt about the Stockton hit when he was still on the follow through of the pass......

It wasn’t a late hit. He nailed gunners shoulder.

Head or neck, and it was certainly head or neck area.

Looked like shoulder on Replay I saw. If so, that’s why it wasn’t called.

Maybe you are too fricking stupid to realize the head and neck are connected, to the shoulders, it was high, he was defenseless. God Damn moron.

My takes is call both or neither. It didn't matter other than it gave Stockton a Concussion, or the symptoms of one.

Not at all, between the Texas hit and this own, officials must have some conspiracy against not protecting the kid. Like they have come together and said we will call all kinds of stupid targeting calls to protect players, but not when Stockton is involved

Targeting doesn’t involve the shoulder. It wasn’t called.

One was a direct hit to the head. It was called

Both were high on the shoulder jagoff with incidental contact to the head. Call both or neither. Seen far less called. We can agree to disagree beyond that.

When I think of DJS, I think of an int at the worst possible time in a Florida game that cost us a shot at playing for a title. I associate that player with poor judgement.

Forcible contact to the helmet happened on one of those plays.

Forcible contact to the shoulder isn’t targeting.

What you are wanting is a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty for a hard hit to the shoulder.

Why are you still talking? There was high contact on both. Goddamn you are a dumb mother fricker. Crown of the Ole Miss players helmet hit middle left of Stockton's face mask. Ole Miss players face mask was exactly neck level

Is this a vision problem for you? The replay doesn’t show forcible contact to gunners helmet.

Gaslight some one else dildo. No part of that hit can be non forcible. it concussed him.

I’m don’t mind that call if there was any consistency to when it gets applied. I watched Miami leveling receivers with shoulders and helmet to helmet and no calls all game.

In this case the receiver turns and lowers his head into our guy at the impact. This is exactly what happened to Gunner in the SECCG game against TX. No call.

IMO a helpless player is one that isn’t looking or in the process of catching the pass. This dude caught it and turned up field. The hit we delivered happens every game with runners falling into tacklers.

Plus, the first hit on Stockton could have easily been called for targeting. He released the ball and the defender launched up at his upper chest/ head basically slamming him backwards. That dangerous as frick and at a minimum was unnecessary roughness.

Did his helmet hit the ground very hard, or not?

There were two hits. One where he got whiplashed back after throwing to Cash. That one should have been targeting.

The other was when he jumped and got hit in the ribs - which I don’t have a problem with.

After his head snapped back violently back at the hit, his head had whiplashed back forward when he hit the ground. So no, his name plate hit the ground with his chin forward.
