Chicago is a good place to stay if you're not staying in south bend. It's only 90 minutes away and full of hotels.
It isn't Athens, but south bend hardly sucks. It's a great college town with lots of bars and stuff to see

Both of my sons and I will be there. I got a hotel 15 minutes from South Bend. Everything was sold out in South Bend, or they wanted some 600 bucks a night. We'll fly in on Friday morning, and leave Sunday. No tailgating allowed on campus, so plan accordingly.

We rented a 3 bedroom house 1.5 miles from Notre dame stadium for 475 a night and plan on tailgating in the front yard. There are deals to be had renting homes in South Bend. There's like no hotels there, so the ones there are steep. I was talking to our Uber driver last weekend when I was there for the va tech game and she said her and a lot of others rent out their homes for game weekends, similar to people leaving Augusta for the masters.

No, but I wish we got a home and home with UDub..or a return trip to Boise/Seattle for the broncos.
