Long story short, I'll be on the mic for my son's football games. He's 10.

I'd like to hear examples of the phrases used on completed passes, etc.

Obviously. It's not rocket science.

Young the ball carrier, tackled by #7 Jones. Etc.

But I'm looking around the web and all I can get are the TV guys. I want PA announcer sound or vids.

All I can find are interviews and opening game montages.

It's Saturday night in Athens! Kinda stuff.

Nothing in game.

You go to a ton of games. Hit me with a reply of his cadence on completed passes.

Fromm complete to Hardman? Is thar about it?

Other thing I want to know is what to say if a player goes down.

Nothing? Or something like
Folks let's give # 7 a hand after he gets up?

I think PA is one of those things taht when done well you don't even notice it. You don't need to be a Gus Johnson out there with fake energy trying to turn up to 11 every down. Like you said, I think a pretty simple anmd basic "just the facts" kinda thing is good. "Fromm copmlete to hardman to the 35 yard line. First down, Georgia!"

This is the only phrase he seems to put any kind of inflection into.

"Wooten da ball carrier" is a classic. Any kids named Wooten? And if so, I hope he's on your son's team.

"Now time for the greatest tradition in college football, the spell Georgia cheer!"

That one always cracked me up.

But his game commentary is great. Very minimalistic

What are we talking about here? Are you actually going to be up in a booth on a PA system for a 10 year olds pee wee league game? Or is this a deal where youll have a bullhorn and sit on top of a van in a lawn chair until league organizers ask you to stop?

Up in the booth. They play on the high school field.

I'm planning a big production.

Thunderstruck or enter sandman?

Edit) to be clear, I plan on minimal in game. Simply who carried the ball. Who made the tackle.

But I have an opening, a closing, and have to read sponsor ads throughout

Not sure, but just make sure you close the mic or use your inner voice when some of the football moms make an appearance...

Definitely Sandman

Are you the announcer for the league or just his team? Meaning do you have to play it straight for both teams, or do you get to be a home team partisan like a minor league baseball PA announcer?
