That being said I also don't believe I've ever seen an exodus of coaches before a bowl game quite like we have here.
I don't remember it either. But, then again, it's been 15 years since we've had a change at head coach.
I'd imagine this is part of the normal growing pains.

Schumann is an analyst(not a coach) & he's been recruiting his arse off for CKS...
Schumann was confirmed as being a defensive assistant on the new staff, he just hasn't been assigned a position yet. Unclear as to what he'll be doing between now and the time Kirby gets back.
And my gripe is less about the on-the-field product for the bowl and more about the fact that we made a head coaching change with the idea in mind that at least most of the coaches (including the head guy) were going to stick it out through Jan 2nd for the bowl game (making it not only ok, but necessary for Kirby to hang tight with Bama). Everybody wins in that scenario, right?
Fast forward to today and we now are down two coordinators, a head coach, and a position coach with two more rumored to be out the door. At some point, the guy we hired as head coach needs to look at the situation he agreed to lead and say "You know, maybe this team with the nastiest defense in college football and a Heisman winner at RB will be fine without me and I should go back to my real job that is totally devoid of leadership. I could maybe get a jump start on instituting new practice routines, evaluating the current level of talent, and getting to know the guys I already have on hand."
It's just a bad look to the guys already on campus when coaches are leaving the team bereft of leadership and, in the face of all of that, the guy that is supposed to be running the show is opting to coach his old team instead.
