A rematch with bama in seccg or Tulane at home in December? Not a tough choice.

Lose to Bama or Texas in Atlanta. Play the extra game and then have a third game with one of them late in the playoffs or in the championship.

Tulane at home in December is an easier path but frick that’s* so boring.

The conference championships really don't mean that much any more. If it wasn't for the money they generate, they would probably consider dropping them. Crazy how last year it was essentially a quarter final game.

Could also mean hosting a team like Clemson, USC, penn state, Michigan, or a team we already played in sec play.

So if you win the SECCG and you get in the top 4 you get a BYE in the first round and go to the quarter final.
Then you have a semi final and if you win you’re in the championship so that’s 4 games.
If you miss the seccg you go to the first round and I guess you could possibly get a home game. Plus more time to prepare. Then quarter semi and championship. Still 4 games.
Worst case is to lose the seccg and still make the playoffs because you’d then be playing 5 post season games to win a championship. 17 game season is insane.

Good analysis. I guess I would have to look at what the team's roster looked like regarding injuries leading up the SECCG. If I had a Brock Bowers or starting QB that could use that week off to heal up some...well I would probably take it. Either way, that would be you last chance at rest prior to making a run in the playoff.

REALLY hope that kirby's mental hangup is a saban thing and not an alabama thing,

I do think Saban made Kirby overthink their matchups. He was trying to outsmart the greatest of all time and win on overthought strategy, when he was simply in possession of the better talent and team. Just line it up and let the guys play like they've been playing.

Still makes me sick knowing we would have completed the only modern 3-Peat if we just played like the UGA we saw for the month before Atlanta.
