1984 was one of the greatest tapes of all time by one of the greatest bands of all time.
And for the youngsters a “tape” refers to a cassette tape of a band’s latest release. You kept it in a brown little suitcase in your car and inserted it into your Alpine car radio. And if you had a good one, you could fast forward and it stopped at the end of the current song and auto flipped to play the other side. This kept you from having to mess with it too much while shifting gears on your manual transmission.

In high school my vehicle had similar allure.
In my yearbook Mike Mercer said "tight car, where you get those rims?"
At a tailgate at our first football game my senior year which was on the road at central, lou Williams begged to drive my car around the parking lot while we were tailgating. I didn't let him, which is nothing against him as an individual and more so just me being protective

I don't know Mike Mercer but I know Lou Williams, you were friends with him? Do yall still talk? And who won the game, South Gwinnett or the Black Knights?

I just want us to beat Oklahoma, Auburn, Alabama, Mizzou, Ole Miss, and The Gnats. And beat Vandy 55-0 to make up for the Covid game they didn't play.
We'll make the SECCG and the playoffs.

a younger uga bball follower I see. Mike was backcourt teammates of Lou and obviously not as heralded but was a still a 5* himself. Both of those guys were top 25 national recruits their senior year, which is practically unhjeard of for a "normal", regular HS (like not an IMG type). As an aside- those teams also had a PF that would end up playing for bama and butler. Needless to say, shittons of games were won those couple seasons.
While Lou went straight to the pros mike went to UGA. He had a damn solid run before a devastating knee injury ended his career there.

Definitely not. We were a grade apart and didn't run int eh same circles really, except for overlap with 1 guy I guess you could say. We had an elective class together but that's about it. We knew each others' names but would hardly say we were anything more than classmates. Haven't talked since the last day of HS probably.

SG beat arse. They wre really damn good that year and won the region championhip. One game away from going to the dome.
All of the Big 3 sports at SG around that time were excellent. Baseball featured yet another future Dawg in Joey Side.
